Dem Cummings claims failure of DoJ to release the full Mueller report would create a ‘constitutional crisis’ — because of Michael Cohen?

By Jon Dougherty

In the aftermath of special counsel Robert Mueller’s finding that there was no “collusion” between Mother Russia and the 2016 Trump campaign, congressional Democrats have gone above and beyond all reason to justify continuing a collusion investigation while demanding to see the full Mueller report themselves.

Once upon a time, Democrats were hailing Mueller as the second coming of Christ, a decent, upstanding paragon of virtue and honesty whose word was gold. But that was when they believed (hoped?) he would implicate POTUS Donald Trump in nefarious dealings with Vladimir Putin to “steal the election” from Hillary.

But now that Mueller hasn’t, and now that he couldn’t even find enough evidence to charge the president with obstruction (of the very investigation that the president allowed to be completed), Mueller’s a hack liar and stooge who can no longer be trusted.

In an interview with CNN‘s Chris Cuomo, Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.), the new chair of the House Judiciary Committee, said unless Congress gets to see the entire Mueller report, then a “constitutional crisis” is headed our way.

He knows that because of…Michael Cohen.

“After all, this is…a major issue for the American people and for our Congress. As a matter of fact, we could be headed towards a crisis, a constitutional crisis. So it makes sense for us to do everything in our power, that is, for Barr to do everything in his power to expedite this matter,” Cummings said.

“Of course, I do not want to jeopardize the release of grand jury testimony or things that might be classified or might be harmful to the security of but at the same time, we need to see this report,” he added.

Of course, he would “jeopardize” grand jury testimony — and classified information, and witness privacy, and anything else he had to “jeopardize” just to get a new political angle with which to attack POTUS. And if there was anything ‘good’ in the report, his buddy Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), whom Republicans are demanding he resign from the Intelligence Committee he chairs, will leak it.

Playing the journalist, Cuomo pressed Cummings to explain his ‘constitutional crisis’ claim.

“If it holds up that Mr. Mueller didn’t see criminal activity in terms of the president or anyone around him participating in Russian interference, and he couldn’t make a decision on obstruction, what kind of crisis are we facing?” he asked.

“Well, we’ve got a situation, Chris, where clearly, there are obviously, and I don’t know it to be a fact, because we haven’t seen the report, but obviously, there must be a number of facts on both sides,” Cummings stammered. “And at some point, we may very well come to a point where Mr. Barr, that is our attorney general, does not want to release hardly anything. That in and of itself could get us in a position where this would have to be challenged in some kind of way.”

What “facts on both sides?” There is only one side to “no collusion” and “no obstruction.”

Then it got really interesting. Cummings appeared to pin the constitutional crisis claim on the president’s former dirtbag lawyer, who’s about to go to prison for many, many years.

“Keep in mind, Chris, when we brought Mr. Cohen in, he brought some checks in, and he talked about the president involved with the paramours and brought the checks in, signed by the president,” he said in response to demands that the multiple investigations into all things Trump end following the release of Mueller’s report. “We also know that Mr. Cohen is going to prison for crimes whereby the U.S. Attorney says that were directed by the president.”

[Then prove it, Elijah. Mueller couldn’t.]

“So we have a duty to follow up on those things. You’ve got at least 12 investigations going on right now on other things. Such as, with his inaugural committee, his campaign, and a number of other issues,” Cummings noted.

“And we are looking very carefully at the whole issue of security clearances. So there’s a number of things we have to look at, but again, we can do more than one thing at one time and we’re doing them.”

Gee — when do these Democrats have time to legislate?

In any event, the president has come out in support of releasing the Mueller report. He knows (and so do all Americans now, including those who refuse to believe it) that he “Russian collusion” narrative was a hoax from the outset.

Michael Cohen’s payments to a porn star notwithstanding, there’s no ‘constitutional crisis’ approaching.
