Legal watchdog says Comey ILLEGALLY leaked memos to prompt Trump special counsel: ‘Where’s the DoJ?’

(National SentinelDouble Standards: The head of a noted legal watchdog group says that because fired FBI Director James Comey, by his own admission, leaked memos to the media in order to trigger a special counsel probe of President Donald J. Trump, he should have been held to account by the Justice Department.

But “the DOJ has yet to lift a finger,” said Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton.

According to reports, Comey said he wrote seven memos stemming from nine private conversations he had with Trump.

Four of the seven have been determined to have contained classified information, though some experts have argued that all nine memos could be considered classified since they involved private discussions with the president.

As reported by the New York Post, Comey — in his new book set for release Tuesday called “A Higher Loyalty “- the former FBI director revealed a private conversation he had with Trump, then criticized his marriage to first lady Melania Trump.

In that conversation, Trump brought up the salacious, unverified “Russian dossier” which claimed that he hired prostitutes to urinate on a bed once used by President Obama and first lady Michelle Obama while they were in Moscow.

According to the Post, Comey wrote in his memo that the president said it bothered him if there was “even a one percent chance” his wife thought it was true.

“He just rolled on, unprompted, explaining why it couldn’t possibly be true, ending by saying he was thinking of asking me to investigate the allegation to prove it was a lie. I said it was up to him,” Comey wrote.

The Post notes:

Comey said he privately wondered why Melania might think there was even a 1 percent chance the allegations were true, claiming there is “zero chance” his own wife would believe such a claim.

“In what kind of marriage, to what kind of man, does a spouse conclude there is only a 99 percent chance her husband didn’t do that?” he writes in the book, which hits shelves April 17.

In addition. Comey also wrote a memo about a private dinner he had with Trump shortly after the president was inaugurated. As previously reported, it was at that dinner, according to Comey, that Trump asked for “loyalty.”

Yahoo News reports:

Comey writes that to him, “The demand was like Sammy the Bull’s Cosa Nostra induction ceremony,” referring to Salvatore “Sammy the Bull” Gravano, a former leader of the Gambino crime family, whose testimony ultimately helped convict mob boss John Gotti.

Comey responded with silence, he writes in the book, and Trump moved the conversation along. Later in the dinner, Trump returned to the subject: “I need loyalty.”

“You will always get honesty from me,” Comey writes that he responded.

“That’s what I want, honest loyalty,” Trump said.

“You will get that from me,” Comey responded.

The revelations are frustrating, Fitton noted Thursday, because it proves Comey has once again publicly revealed private memos, but the Justice Department under Attorney General Jeff Sessions has done nothing about it.

“We already know Comey took FBI records and illegally leaked them to get a special counsel appointed as part of his vendetta against @realDonaldTrump. Now it looks like he doubled down and used them also to write a book. And the DOJ/FBI has yet to lift a finger,” Fitton tweeted.

Meanwhile, Judicial Watch noted in a separate tweet, “JW filed a FOIA lawsuit w/ the DOJ for FBI docs on Comey’s new memoir — FBI officials are usually required to submit transcripts for pre-publication review. JW wants to know whether Comey got special treatment, like he did when he leaked info to the media.”

Judicial Watch filed suit in February to obtain access to those documents.

Comey’s book is set for release April 17 and he is expected to sit for a slew of interviews.

  1. Sessions must stop playing with his Barbie Dolls and show some backbone. One can only assume that the Republican senators and congressmen have for years been in cahoots with their Democrat buddies and have been defrauding the voters that they claim to
represent. Conservative Americans will be destroyed if Trump loses this perverted illegal battle. The American voters voted Trump in, why are the Republicans siding with the Democrats that appear to be intent on destroying conservative Americans.

The dirty and Crooked Cop Comey now peddling oily books on street corners to make a living and who was on the take to the highest bidders has the cowardly and pretentious nerve to question someone else’s integrity. This is the laughable legacy he leaves behind.

  3. There is no chance that Sessions will assist. Sessions is deeply embedded in the criminal coverups. A collision is coming.

  4. A memo,,, Not factual but his opinion (possibly written after the firing) against the Presidents. An opinion he admitted was a lie under oath. A scribble on a piece of paper by a disgruntled employee gets a special council. Please We The People see right trough this! Dissolve the government from the vice president down using military tribunal after purging the Obama
@ CIA hold outs in the military
