Lindsey Graham says his ‘goal is to declassify FISA application requests’ made to spy on 2016 Trump campaign (Video)

(NationalSentinel) The chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee said Wednesday that he wants to declassify applications made to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) court during the Obama and early Trump administrations that were used to spy on a member of the president’s 2016 campaign.

“My goal is to explain to you and the American public how the system failed and make sure it never happens again,” Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), told Fox News‘ Sean Hannity during an interview.

“We’re going to pursue this in a transparent fashion,” Graham added. “We’re going to declassify as much as we can, including the FISA warrant applications.”

The GOP senator and ally of President Donald Trump said he will seek to release to the public as much information possible about former British spy Christopher Steele, the author of the infamous “Russia Dossier” used by fired FBI Director James Comey, the Obama Justice Department, and others to secure a warrant to spy on 2016 Trump campaign adviser Carter Page.

Previous reports have suggested that the applications were premised largely on the information contained in the dossier, which was never verified by the FBI and the veracity of which was questioned by ranking Justice Department lawyers and officials including former No. 4 official Bruce Ohr.

His wife, Nellie Ohr, worked for Fusion GPS, the opposition research firm that commissioned the dossier. Fusion was paid by the 2016 Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee to produce the dossier; the money was filtered through a law firm called Perkins-Coie.

“I’m going to give you all the information that was in the system about how suspicious people were of Christopher Steele, how biased he was, [and] let you read it for yourself. Transparency and accountability is my goal,” Graham told Hannity.

“The system had a lot of notice about [Christopher Steele] bias,” Graham continued.

“Mr. Durham will make a decision as to who to prosecute, if anyone,” he added, referencing John Durham, the federal prosecutor tasked by Attorney General William Barr with investigating the origins of the Russia probe, reported.

This is more pretend nonsense from the self serving loudmouth do nothing Graham. He supported the witch hunt the entire time. He has never held the hearings he promised. He has not demanded document release. He has no role in declassification. The public knows how the failure occurred, no thanks to Lindsey. It was caused by massive criminal corruption in the Obama administration and in the DOJ. Notice how he uses the terms “I’m going to” and “We’re going to”, trying to include himself in the solution, while he has done nothing in committee, his only role, and has no… Read more »
