Kentucky GOP overrides governor’s veto of voter ID law, proving again which party REALLY cares about election integrity

Requiring people to prove they have a right to choose their representatives and the way they are governed is not racist

By Jon Dougherty @TheNatSent

(TNS) Whenever you hear a Democrat claim they are ‘concerned’ about ‘election integrity’ and are ‘working to ensure’ that our ‘democracy is protected,’ dismiss that the same way you would if someone told you they had the inside line on a winning horse at the racetrack.

Because it’s patently false.

The party demonstrated that again in recent days when Democratic Gov. Andy Beshear of Kentucky vetoed a voter ID law for the usual talking points: Such laws are ‘racist,’ they ‘stifle voting,’ they ‘harm our democracy,’ and so forth.

None of these things is true, mind you, but Democrats are not a party built on truth, justice, and the American way. Today’s Democratic Party is built to win elections at any cost, no matter what has to be done up to and including massive vote fraud, as we’ve seen many times in the past.

But the good news is, we have a Republican Party that still believes in the ballot integrity and that elections should not be stolen using fraudulent ‘mail-in’ ballots or by allowing people to vote who should not be doing so.

As such, the Kentucky GOP did the right thing and overrode Beshear’s veto, as The Associated Press reports:

Republican lawmakers in Kentucky swept aside the Democratic governor’s veto of a bill to require the state’s residents to show a government-issued photo ID in order to vote.

Votes to override Gov. Andy Beshear’s veto easily cleared the GOP-led Senate and House as lawmakers reconvened Tuesday for a wrap-up session amid the coronavirus outbreak. …

The measure would require Kentucky residents to produce a photo ID when voting, with limited exceptions, starting with the November election.

The bill’s supporters have noted that a photo ID already is required for many other transactions, including opening a bank account, cashing a check or picking up sports tickets at will-call. …

The bill’s opponents pointed to the absence of voter impersonation cases in Kentucky. They said the photo ID requirement will reduce turnout among minorities, the poor, the elderly and disabled voters. Currently, Kentucky voters are asked to show identification but it doesn’t have to be a photo ID.

So, the bill’s opponents are certain there are no ‘voter impersonation cases’ in the state and that it will ‘reduce turnout’ among the usual suspects — poor people, minorities, the elderly, etc.

No, they don’t. “Opponents” don’t know any of these things. But even if true, imagine forcing someone to show a photo ID to buy liquor and a pack of smokes, but not to determine who they want to represent them in government or what measures they do or don’t support.

It’s absurd. Because the fact is, if people want to participate in our democratic institutions, they’ll find a way to do so, regardless of what it takes.

Kind of like when illegal immigrants come ‘out of the shadows’ to line up for driver’s licenses in states like New York…so they can obtain a ‘photo ID’ which allows them to ‘participate in our democracy.’ Without any fear of being deported, either.

Requiring people to prove they have a right to choose their representatives and the way they are governed is not unfair, racist, or exclusionary, it’s a benefit of citizenship.

The timing of the kung-flu and the putsche for mail-in-voting. Look at the timing of kung-flu. Scampeachment failed, muh Russia failed, false accusers sex blackmail failed.

The demon-seed Pedocrats, chinesey-demons, deep state, W.H.O, CDC, UN, EU, faucci-faggot, Birx-scarf-hag —All these players acting in coordination, hatching a plot to nullify your vote, undermine our President, and destroy our economy. The timing of this plot. It was planned long ago.

sit around steaming and wallowing in pity when they lose, but come up with abstract and asinine ideas as to why they lost. Then pass it on to their faithful LyingMedia for them to brainwash (not really necessary) the populace of the moronic tv audience (dems) … Ideas that make them feel better like, It Must Have Been Due to Voter I.D. that left out all black people and all old people(like Biden)! you know, those millions upon of millions of Americans who don’t have driver’s licenses ? You really have to do some hard drugs to dumb yourself down… Read more »

“So, the bill’s opponents are certain there are no ‘voter impersonation cases’ in the state and that it will ‘reduce turnout’ among the usual suspects — poor people, minorities, the elderly, etc.”? BS. The fact of the matter is that 40 of the 120 counties in Kentucky have more people on the voter rolls than actually live in the county.

Obviously if Democrats can’t cheat, they can very rarely win. But, sadly, Republicans are perfectly happy (in most states and at the Federal level) to capitulate (for some unfathomable reason) and allow Voter ID bills to languish until they fade away. Why can’t we ever actually SOLVE anything? Any arguments against Voter ID are demonstrably untrue. Sooo…can’t Republicans get the problem solved? Why wait until Dems can steal the election from Trump?
