The next lawsuit: Trump admin introduces rule that would allow faith-based adoption agencies to refuse LGBTQ couples

By Jon Dougherty

(TNS) The Trump administration is about to trigger the next Left-wing meltdown — and lawsuit — with a new rule that is sure to solidify the president as a traditionalist to the Right and a loathsome ogre to the Left.

The rule, which is about to be issued by the Department of Health and Human Services, would no longer force faith-based adoption agencies that get federal HHS grants to process adoptions from same-sex couples.

Mind you, the rule isn’t something the president or his HHS secretary, Alex M. Azar II, stayed up nights thinking about. Rather, it simply reverses an Obama-era rule that forbade any adoption agency that received federal grants from considering sexual orientation or gender identity as approving factors among adoptive parents.

Obama and his Left-wing Cabinet officials spent eight years trying to deep six traditional American values, and this was one of those efforts.

The proposed rule will take effect in 30 days barring any legal action, but of course, there will be legal action because our current president isn’t allowed to actually be in charge of the Executive Branch, becoming the first president to be denied this power.

Still, it’s a step in the right direction.

“HHS is committed to fully enforcing the civil rights laws passed by Congress. The proposed rule would better align its grants regulations with federal statutes, eliminating regulatory burden, including burden on the free exercise of religion,” HHS said in a statement.

Federal anti-discrimination laws do not consider sexual orientation and gender identity.

“HHS is affirming that it will comply with all applicable Supreme Court decisions in administering its grants programs,” the statement said, adding that the Obama-era rule violated the Religious Freedom Restoration Act and the Constitution and also went beyond the department’s authority.

Of course, some Leftist group will find a like-minded federal judge — probably on the West Coast and probably someone Obama appointed — to declare this new rule the latest massive threat to the security and longevity of our republic.

And just as assuredly, the Trump administration will appeal the stay, as it should.

But there is a body of research out there suggesting that it’s not in the best interests of small children to be raised by two adults of the same sex — especially adults who are, um, ‘confused’ about what sex they really are.

For instance, a 2015 study of 512 children raised by same-sex parents found that they were twice as likely to have mental health issues.

Researchers from the Witherspoon Institute found that 17 percent of children with same-sex parents had serious emotional problems compared to 7 percent of children with a mom and dad. They also found similar results in learning disabilities.

But hey, the Left doesn’t care about these bothersome facts. It’s all about the agenda, political power, and corrupting the American values President Trump and his staff are attempting to preserve and/or restore.

So what if some kids grow up with mental problems because they can’t process the concept of same-sex relationships?

I don’t think it is a good idea to let homosexuals adopt children. I’ll go a step further. They should NOT be allowed to teach, coach, or have any interactions with kids.

God hates sodomites and perverts. That’s why perverts and sodomites hate God. They can quit, repent, and so forth. I am good with that part. Repent and mean it!

No way getting around correct interpretations of Scripture for the class of people that make a sport out of child molestation.
