(NationalSentinel) On his Monday night program, Fox News’ Tucker Carlson discussed the recent attack by an armed Antifa supporter against an ICE detention facility in Tacoma, Wash., noting that members of the group now have the support of the “respectable Left” in America as elements call for more “direct action” against “fascist” government facilities.
Willem Van Spronsen, 68, allegedly released a manifesto stating “I am Anfita” before taking an AR-15 with him on Saturday to firebomb the facility, which he believed was a “concentration camp.” The attack was celebrated by many on the left and Spronsen was hailed as a hero on social media.
As many have noted including Carlson, the so-called “mainstream” media has essentially ignored the story. The Seattle Times and local news affiliates covered the attack but it didn’t make the national news feeds — and it should have because it was clearly an act of domestic terrorism.
What’s more, the response to Van Spronsen’s attack online has been chilling, to say the least. Not only has it not been condemned by notable Democrats such as Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), let alone Democratic Party leaders, but factions of Antifa are now celebrating Von Spronsen as a “martyr” in the struggle against so-called “fascist” elements — which is to say, anyone who doesn’t agree with the group’s far-Left Marxist/anarchist agenda.
“So far, not a single Democratic presidential candidate condemned Saturday’s attack,” Carlson said. “We hope we’re wrong but as of right now, not a single Democrat has condemned…a terror attack that took place on our own soil” just days ago.
“But why would they condemn it? They’re on board with it,” the Fox News host continued. “Just a few weeks ago The New York Times published an op-ed calling ICE agents complicit in ‘mass atrocities,’ and then called for ICE agents to have their names and home addresses publicized.”
Carlson also noted that unlike mass shootings, the Left is not calling for more gun control or condemning ‘lax’ firearms laws, nor has Facebook and other social media behemoths sanctioned or banned Antifa-linked groups that are calling for new attacks.
One group calling itself “Seattle Antifascist Action,” posted this following Von Spronsen’s fatal attack: “When our good friend and comrade Willem Von Spronsen took a stand against the fascist detention center in Tacoma, he became a martyr who gave his life in the struggle against fascism. Today we stand strong in our support of yet another martyr in the struggle against fascism. May his death serve as a call to protest and direct action.”
That’s a blatant call for more violence against similar facilities, Carlson notes. But that group isn’t alone.
He pointed out that Kim Kelly, a “labor columnist” for Teen Vogue magazine, took to Twitter to praise the attack and essentially call for more.
“As Von Spronsen and the many other heroic before him have made clear, there are many ways to fight back against a violent fascist regime. Perhaps it’s time for more of us to put our thinking caps on,” she wrote.
Carlson also pointed out that Kelly is a correspondent for NPR, a taxpayer-funded government media operation, meaning she is supporting armed terrorist actions against the very government she works for.
“So why should we be surprised when people try to murder ICE agents,” the host continued.
It’s become glaringly obvious that Antifa has blossomed into something more than just some Left-wing nut job rich kids protesting Donald Trump. The organization’s objective — anarchy, nothing less — is now sparking individuals to take armed terrorist action against legitimate federal law enforcement operations.
If that isn’t enough to spark Justice Department action, then what will be — the firebombing of an ICE facility and hundreds of deaths?
Use of violence to enact political change is the definition of terrorism. It’s time for the Trump administration to take this threat seriously and act appropriately. It’s obvious the Democrat Party is rushing to embrace this radicalism and isn’t going to be much help combatting it.
