Student attacks against teachers rise to a record 220,300 as Dem-led public education collapse continues

By Jon Dougherty

There could be no better example of how Democrats destroy everything they touch than the nation’s public education system.

For decades, Left-wing political thought has dominated in our public schools. But even as public education lapsed into mediocrity while other industrialized nations produce world-class, highly educated citizens capable of competing in a global environment, Americans have doubled and tripled down on Democrat-led education policy failures.

The result: Our schools are increasingly becoming learning-free zones of violence.

As reported by CNS News:

A record 220,300 public school teachers reported that they were physically attacked by a student during the 2015-2016 school year, according to a report jointly published this month by the National Center for Education Statistics and the Bureau of Justice Statistics.

The 220,300 public school teachers who said they were physically attacked by a student in 2015-2016 is up from the 197,400 who said they were attacked by a student in 2011-2012 (which is the last school year before 2015-2016 for which teachers were surveyed on the question).

According to stats, incidents of violence against teachers have been rising steadily for years — as Left-wing policies against holding kids (and their parents) accountable have also risen:

The data on the number of school teachers who reported being physically attacked by a student in 2015-16 was also previously published in “Indicators of School Crime and Safety: 2017.”

“The percentage of public school teachers reporting that they had been physically attacked by a student from their school in 2015-16 (6 percent) was higher than in all previous survey years (around 4 percent in each survey year) except in 2011-12, when the percentage was not measurably different from that in 2015-16,” said the new report.

“Students are not the only victims of intimidation and violence in schools,” the report said. “Teachers are also subject to threats and physical attacks, and students from their schools sometimes commit these offenses.”

Meanwhile, Left-wing extremists in the Democratic Party are continuing to pursue policies that will only lead to less respect for teachers and school administrators and, hence, more violence against them.

We reported Thursday that Democrats in California are about to approve legislation that would ban the suspension of students for “willful disobedience” — because more black kids are being impacted by current rules:

In yet another indication that Left-wing Democrats have completely lost their minds — or really are hell-bent on turning our country into a lawless wasteland – the California Senate just voted to ban primary schools from suspending students who show “willful defiance” of teachers and administrators.

If that isn’t a recipe for disaster, there is no such thing.

As reported by CBS Sacramento:

In the 2015-16 school year, 96,421 students suspended for willful defiance – a decrease of nearly 30,000 from 2014-15 school year. Willful defiance suspensions accounted for 24% of total suspensions statewide that school year. Willful defiance suspensions made up 20% of all suspensions in the 2016-17 school year, and 14% in the 2017-18 school year.

African-American students made up 5.6% of enrollment in California schools in 2017-18, but accounted for 15.6% of willful defiance suspensions. Conversely, white students made up 23.2% of statewide enrollment but made up only 20.2% of willful defiance suspensions.

If this idiotic piece of legislation becomes law, classrooms in California are going to turn into free-for-alls where the ‘stronger’ personalities will walk all over teachers and destroy any semblance of order necessary to create an acceptable learning environment.

And you know the saying: As goes California, so goes the rest of the country.

When I was in the 8th grade, way before the sociocommies took over the educational system, a “tough guy” in my class attacked an English teacher. The city police picked him up from where he was being patched up by the school nurse and transported him to the local juvenile facility for a few weeks. He was never allowed back in that particular school.

California liberals are trying to enact a law students cannot be punished for standing up to teachers 🤷‍♂️

I remember attending Junior High School in the 1950s. This sort of thing was unimaginable. If it did happen to happen, teachers and students would have beaten the attacker to hamburger—with impunity. I saw the Principal knock a kid down once. He rammed him in the solar plexus with one finger and it was over.
