Cruz-Graham: DNA testing at border finds that nearly one-third of migrant ‘families’ are fraudulent

(NationalSentinel) Thanks to a pilot program involving rapid DNA testing being implemented by the Department of Homeland Security along the U.S.-Mexico border, officials are finding an astonishing number of so-called ‘families’ that surrender to Border Patrol agents are fraudulent.

During a speech on the chamber floor last week, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) praised the Trump administration for implementing the “Rapid DNA” program and credited it with catching human smugglers. In addition, he said thanks to the testing, some smugglers are even confessing before it is administered.

“I also learned of a recent pilot program that used rapid DNA tests to discover whether these family units were real. Nearly 30 percent were found to be fraudulent in the Rio Grande Valley-in other words, the adults bringing kids into the United States illegally weren’t related to the children,” Cruz stated.

“This is one of the most tragic elements of the crisis: the number of children who are being trafficked, who are being physically abused, sexually abused, and neglected. Often, they are being used as pawns,” Cruz added.

Opponents of the program include CNN and the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU).

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), in an appearance with Maria Bartiromo on her Fox Business “Sunday Morning Futures” program, reiterated Cruz’s statistics while lauding the program.

Also, Graham talked about his visit to a border detention facility on Friday with Vice President Mike Pence, noting that he “saw a system that is completely overwhelmed for no good reason.”

“Our laws are set up such that if you can bring a small child to America, coming from Central America, we can only hold the child for 20 days, then we let the entire family go because we don’t want to separate families,” Graham said, adding that 52,000 people have been released into the U.S. alone from the one Border Patrol facility he visited.

“What did I see? I saw a system about to break,” he said, adding that he also saw serial border jumpers who have been caught many times before.

“We’re not going to let them go, I don’t care if they have to stay in those [overcrowded] detention facilities for 400 days,” Graham, chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, added.

Senator Graham appears in front of cameras often, but never proposes actual actions or legislation. He’s a phony. He is one of the main advocates of the amnesty bills of 2006 & 2013. That’s the only immigration action he has ever proposed - massive amnesties and chain migration.
