Bill Clinton ADMITS to Israeli news program he interfered in county’s 1996 elections to help defeat Netanyahu

As Democrats and Left-wing talking heads continue to point fingers at Russia for allegedly interfering in U.S. elections, former President Bill Clinton admitted to an Israeli television news program that he intervened in Israeli elections in 1996 to stop right-leaning Benjamin Netanyahu from being elected.

In the interview, the former Democratic president said he had a preference for Shimon Perez, the Left-leaning opponent of Netanyahu, and that’s who he tried to help.

“Would it be fair to say that in April 1996, you tried to help Shimon Perez to win the election?” the Israeli interviewer asked the 42nd president.

After pausing for a moment, Clinton responded, “That would be fair to say.” He added: “I tried to do it in a way that didn’t overtly involve me.”

Clinton went on to explain his motivation:

I did try to be helpful to him because I thought he was more supportive of the [Israeli-Palestinian] peace process. And I tried to do it in a way that was consistent with what I believed to be in Israel’s interest without saying anything about the differences in domestic policy or anything else.

Netanyahu would go on to win the election, Clinton noted, and the new Israeli leader made sure he was aware of the U.S. president’s interference during a post-election conversation.

“He wanted me to know that he knew I wasn’t for him and he beat us anyway. He was being very ‘Bibi,'” Clinton said, using Netanyahu’s nickname.

“But, you know, I realized that he was now leader of the country, and if I wanted to try to support the peace I had to find a way to work with him,” he continued. “I wasn’t so much angry as I was, just, bemused by the brashness by which he played his hand. But that’s who he is. He did a good job of it.”

Clinton’s interference in Israel’s elections isn’t the only time it has occurred — or that a Democratic president was involved and Netanyahu was the ‘target.’

Reports noted in the summer of 2016 that the Obama regime sent taxpayer funds to groups in Israel opposed to Prime Minister Netanyahu. The Washington Times reported in July of that year:

The State Department paid hundreds of thousands of dollars in taxpayers grants to an Israeli group that used the money to build a campaign to oust Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in last year’s Israeli parliamentary elections, a congressional investigation concluded Tuesday.

Some $350,000 was sent to OneVoice, ostensibly to support the group’s efforts to back Israeli-Palestinian peace settlement negotiations. But OneVoice used the money to build a voter database, train activists and hire a political consulting firm with ties to President Obama’s campaign — all of which set the stage for an anti-Netanyahu campaign, the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations said in a bipartisan staff report.

The spending was not deemed illegal because the State Department never put conditions on how the money was to be used, the Times said. But it seems rather obvious that if the money was being sent to an anti-Netanyahu organization the funds would be used in some way to try to defeat him.

Netanyahu won the 2015 election, nonetheless.

Democrats today pointing fingers at Moscow over Russia’s 2016 election meddling seems hypocritical at best, and shockingly dishonest at worst.

…ISN’T the only time…

That’s funny…because his wife interferes in OUR elections!

Obama took taxpayer money and blatantly interfered in Netanyahu’s election last time. He sent an entire staff over to Israel and set up shop for the duration of the campaign trying to influence Israeli elections. Where is the investigation? Collusion in an attempt to interfere with a foreign election.
