(NationalSentinel) Politics: Republicans were savaged by Democrats and their propaganda wing, the establishment media, in 2013 for “shutting down the government” over Obamacare funding. But because Democrats lack the hypocrisy gene, they now say they intend to do that very thing when it comes to blocking funding for President Donald J. Trump’s border wall.

As reported by the Washington Times:

Senate Democrats said Monday that they will block any spending bill that includes money for President Trump’s border wall, even if it leads to a government shutdown, saying it’s up to Republicans to resist touchy issues in the looming spending debate.

In a letter led by Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer, top Democrats also said they will insist that bills allow Planned Parenthood to collect taxpayer money.

But though Democrats are in the minority and would have to filibuster to block the bills, they insisted it’s Republicans who will be blamed for a government shutdown.

“If Republicans insist on inserting poison pill riders such as defunding Planned Parenthood, building a border wall, or starting a deportation force, they will be shutting down the government and delivering a severe blow to our economy,” the Democrats said in a letter to top Republicans.

Of course Republicans will be blamed for any shutdown by the Washington establishment media; that’s not hard to figure out. But that will only play to Democratic supporters, not the vast majority of the country, which gave Congress and the presidency to the GOP in successive elections beginning in 2010.

But wait - weren’t we told most Americans were angry at the GOP when they were blamed for shutting down the government?

And isn’t Mexico going to pay for the wall?

And don’t most voters in states where Senate Democrats must defend in 2018 also support defending Planned Parenthood?

Under the “leadership” of Schumer and Pelosi, look for Democrats to regularly demonstrate they are among the most tone-deaf political leaders in generations.
