Parkland father escorted out of State of the Union for yelling at Trump after Second Amendment comments

Other parents of shooting victims have taken a different stand

(TNS) Amid a number of tense moments during President Donald Trump’s State of the Union Address on Tuesday, a father from Parkland, Fla., who lost a daughter in the Valentine’s Day shooting at Marjorie Stoneman Douglas High in 2018 yelled out during comments about protecting the Second Amendment.

The outburst by Fred Guttenberg, whose daughter Jaime Guttenberg was one of 17 people killed during the mass shooting, led to his ouster from the chamber, CBS News reported.

Guttenberg had been invited to the SOTU by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

Prior to Guttenberg’s outburst, the president said:

In America we don’t punish prayer; we don’t tear down crosses; we don’t ban symbols of faith; we don’t muzzle preachers and pastors. In America, we celebrate faith. … Just as we believe in the First Amendment, we also believe in another constitutional right that is under siege all across the country. So long as I am president, I will always protect your Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms.

Guttenberg has been an outspoken advocate for gun control since the shooting.

Later, after the president’s address, Guttenberg took to Twitter to thank Pelosi for the invitation and apologize for his behavior.

Huffington Post congressional reporter Matt Fuller tweeted that Guttenberg yelled something along the lines of “victims of gun violence like my daughter.”

Other parents who lost children in the shooting by former student Nikolas Cruz have taken a different stand on guns. One of them is Andrew Pollack, the father of Meadow Pollack, who maintains that while talking about gun safety is important, refusing to adopt tangible measures to physically protect schools will only lead to more incidents.

Ban the c | a for creating mkultra hypno-zombie shooters. Read up on it, and red-pill yourself.

The goal is to disarm Americans, so they can turn us into Euro-Peons.

Tyrants die with an armed population. Pray for it to happen.

While it is horrible to lose anyone to death. It is probably way worse to lose a child. I have never, but almost suffered that, my son is a Marine. It is sad to blame the gun and not the user of the gun. I should blame the food and not my eating of it. I should blame the car or the alcohol instead of the driver who chose to drink, who chose to drive. The 2nd Amendment is a GOD given right of self protection and guarantees my gov will not be tyrannical.

Obama lives just down the road, why didn’t he go to his house and bark out loud at him ? (where he would have been arrested as well)
He can still do this after he’s released from jail.
