U.S. Amb. Richard Grenell trolls NYT reporter who claimed sources said ‘razor thin’ evidence existed Soleimani was planning attack

(TNS) The pathetic, treasonous “mainstream” media is working hard to bring us information about how wrong and bad it was for President Donald Trump to take out the world’s foremost terrorist scumbag, Iranian Gen. Qassem Soleimani.
If only they had worked this hard to dig into the “Russian collusion” hoax.
According to New York Times correspondent Rukmini Callimachi, the Trump administration didn’t have jack in terms of real intelligence indicating that Soleimani and his Iranian proxy minions were planning a major attack against U.S. assets in the region.
1. I’ve had a chance to check in with sources, including two US officials who had intelligence briefings after the strike on Suleimani. Here is what I’ve learned. According to them, the evidence suggesting there was to be an imminent attack on American targets is “razor thin”.

2. In fact the evidence pointing to that came as three discrete facts: a) A pattern of travel showing Suleimani was in Syria, Lebanon & Iraq to meet with Shia proxies known to have an offensive position to the US. (As one source said that’s just “business as usual” for Suleimani)

3. More intriguing was b) information indicating Suleimani sought the Supreme Leader’s approval for an operation. He was told to come to Tehran for consultation and further guidance, suggesting the operation was a big deal - but again this could be anything.

Well, that settles it, then. The New York Times, that paragon of fact and journalistic virtue, has spoken.
Except that doesn’t settle it.
U.S. Ambassador to Germany Richard Grenell told Callimachi in a tweet she ought to get better sources — like, maybe some sources that aren’t so stricken with Trump hate.

Now, Grenell is part of the administration, albeit as a member of the diplomatic corps, not the intelligence community. But the two often swim in the same waters.
And besides, there is this: Suppose for a moment that Callimachi’s source is a) real, and b) right. So what?
Soleimani was a terrorist scumbag POS who should have been taken out years ago, not paid off like the Obama administration did…while he was directing operations to kill American troops in Iraq.
And there there is that little business last week of sending proxies to attack a base, killing an American contractor and wounding four U.S. troops.
That attack was followed up by besieging the U.S. Embassy in Baghdad.

That members of the American media are so distraught by this they are actively working to undermine the president and his decision is disgraceful.
But, alas, typical.
