Didn’t get the memo: Senate Intel chairman Richard Burr issues subpoena to Don Jr. over ‘Russia matters’
By Jon Dougherty
You might think that Republicans, in particular, are eager to move on from the “Russia collusion” hoax that has ensnared and hampered POTUS Donald Trump for more than two years, but you’d be wrong apparently.
Axios reported Wednesday evening that Senate Intelligence Committee chairman Richard Burr (R-N.C.) has issued a subpoena to Donald Trump Jr. to provide more testimony regarding “Russia matters.”
The site noted:
The Republican-led Senate Intelligence Committee has subpoenaed Donald Trump Jr. to answer questions about his previous testimony before Senate investigators in relation to the Russia investigation, sources with direct knowledge told Axios.
Why it matters: It’s the first congressional subpoena — that we know about — of one of President Trump’s children. The subpoena sets up a fight that’s unprecedented in the Trump era: A Republican committee chair pit against the Republican president’s eldest son.
Axios noted further, “It’s also a sign that the Russia investigations in Congress aren’t over despite the conclusion of special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe and despite Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell saying it’s time to move on from the Russia probe.”
On that note regarding the Senate Majority Leader’s intention to ‘move on’ from the witch hunt probe, Sen. Rand Paul speculated that Burr hadn’t yet received “the memo.”
Apparently the Republican chair of the Senate Intel Committee didn’t get the memo from the Majority Leader that this case was closed… https://t.co/jvV5PIX266

Republican leaders in the House were stupified — and upset — at the report as well.
“Donald Trump Jr has already spent dozens of hours testifying in front of Congressional committees. Endless investigations—by either party—won’t change the fact that there was NO collusion. It’s time to move on. It’s time to focus on ISSUES, not investigations.” House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) said.

Dr. Sebastian Gorka noted that Don Jr. has been cleared by special counsel Robert Mueller and has already provided hours and hours of testimony.

Why is cowardly RINO @Senatorburr helping Resistance Dems continue Russia hoax by subpoenaing @DonaldJTrumpJr?
Don was cleared by the Mueller Investigation & has already testified 20+ hours in front of Congress.
The Senate GOP should be ashamed of themselves for allowing this. pic.twitter.com/qNDWyPv40J

Political operative and close friend to Donald Trump Jr., Arthur Schwartz, posted a more cryptic message/warning.
“Politicians who can’t keep their zippers closed shouldn’t start wars in Washington,” Schwartz wrote.

No word yet from McConnell about the subpoena or what it may portend both for the White House and Burr’s committee. But if Axios‘ source is correct, there’s a legal fight coming.

Since the Mueller report didn’t give the Left what they wanted, the Left will do it themselves by multiplying corrupt investigations. This is yet another attempt at a coup - plain and simple. Let’s not forget too that Richard Burr is a RINO and is complicit in trying to bring down Trump and his family by any means possible.
