The left-wing media, which is nothing but a propaganda arm of the DNC, tried to claim late last week that a special election in Texas would be some sort of bellwether and testimonial to Donald Trump’s continued influence in the party.

He won the suburban district in 2016 and again in 2020, but less so the second time.

That’s gotta mean that a Democrat has a chance of winning that district then, right?

Not only didn’t any of the many Democrats running among a field of 23 total candidates not garner enough votes to advance to a run-off, but the candidate Trump backed — Susan Wright, who is running for a seat that was vacated after her husband who held it unexpectedly passed away in February — is the lead candidate going forward.

She is one of two Republicans advancing.

No Democrats.

USA Features News has more:

A Texas Republican candidate for the U.S. House endorsed by former President Donald Trump managed to advance to a run-off Saturday amid a crowded GOP field.

Susan Wright, who is running for a seat held by her late husband, Rep. Ron Wright, R-Texas, received 19.2 percent of the vote.

Susan Wright released a brief statement on Twitter late Saturday, saying, 'Let's go win this!' with the hashtag for 'Make America Great Again,' which was Trump's 2016 campaign slogan.

The former president endorsed Wright last week, saying she 'will be strong on the Border, Crime, Pro-Life, our brave Military and Vets, and will ALWAYS protect your Second Amendment.' and predicting she would make 'a terrific Congresswoman.'

Texas remains red. That’s a good thing.

And Trump remains atop the GOP, a very good thing.
