The Pentagon brass hated Donald Trump because he was honest with them when he first took office.
“You’re losers,” he reportedly told them, adding that they don’t know how to “win wars” anymore, a reference to the ongoing conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan at the time.
But Trump’s criticism wasn’t so much at those generals and admirals as it was in defense of the rank-and-file officers and troops who were fighting and dying for nothing.
And the rank-and-file knew he had their back; Trump just manages to exude credulity and believability when it came to how he really felt about our fabulous military.
As such, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that he reached out to some of the families of those 13 men and women military members who died trying to carry out Joe Biden’s messed up withdrawal plan from Kabul late last month, and some of those families, at least, want him to attend their funerals.
Former President Donald Trump has been in contact with some of the family members of the 13 service members killed in Afghanistan and is considering attending funerals of several of the soldiers, reports The Washington Post.
'It was just very cordial, very understanding. He was awesome,' Darin Hoover, whose 31-year-old Marine son died in the blast, told the Post of his conversation with Trump. 'He was just talking about the finest of the finest. He said he heard and saw everything that we had said, and he offered his condolences several times, and how sorry he was.'
Some of the families invited Trump to their children's funerals and he has suggested he may try to go, according to the Post.
Several of those same families didn’t think much of Biden when he visited with them because he kept bringing up his late son who did serve in the Navy — as a lawyer — and who did pass away — but not from combat, from brain cancer (which sucks for a parent anyway, of course, but it’s just not the same as having a son or daughter blown up by a suicide bomber on a FUBAR mission).
And there’s that infamous scene of Biden checking his watch while taking part in the dignified transfer on the tarmac at Dover Air Force Base, as if he had somewhere else to be (like maybe it was nap time).
Trump is still the true commander-in-chief to hundreds of thousands of our military members, and this just proves it.
Biden's inflation is GETTING WORSE by the month...
Around the world, supply chains continue to be disrupted. Delays are now commonplace. And they're going to get worse.
There IS a financial reset coming - that's just true. All the signs indicate as much.
