‘GOP’ Sen. Pat Toomey of Pennsylvania is retiring, and not a moment too soon, considering a statement he made this week about a potential 2024 presidential candidacy for Donald Trump.
In essence, Toomey the RINO wants the GOP establishment to continue to pick the party’s (loser) candidates, not you, the voter.
In an interview with CNBC he said:
I think that the future of our party is to be a party of ideas, and not to be a party about any one individual, and I think we will learn a lot from the next set of primaries. I think after what happened post-2020 election, I think the president's behavior was completely unacceptable, so I don't think he should be the nominee to lead the party in 2024.
Breitbart News notes further:
When challenged on whether he is a conservative fighter who puts American first and not globalist interests, Toomey responded that he is 'a conservative Republican by any objective measure… by looking at my views compared to that of a traditional conservative Republican.'
“It is President Trump who departed from Republican orthodoxy and conservative orthodoxy in a variety of ways. I stuck to the conservative views that I've had for a long time, he had a different point of view on matters such as trade and sometimes immigration and other things,” Toomey charged.
“My view is we had gotten to a point, and we could have sustained a very modest presence on the ground, extremely low rate of casualties, and we hadn't had a death in Afghanistan in well over a year, a modest cost monetarily. For that price, we would have supported the Afghans who were actually the tip of the spear, the ones fighting, and could have prevented the re-emergence of terrorists from a Taliban-controlled state,” he added.
We can’t tell you how sick and tired we are of listening to these RINOs bitch about inane alleged “differences” between Trump and “Republican orthodoxy.”
Because it just proves these GOP establishmentarians are the ones who are out of touch with their own voters, not the voters who are leaving them.
In fact, Donald Trump was the biggest Republican presidential practitioner of conservative values and principles in a generation:
— Small government
— Fewer regulations
— Budget cuts (that the GOP Congress refused to pass)
— Wanted to repeal Obamacare (that the GOP Congress refused to pass)
— Constitutionalist judges and justices
And so on.
But yeah, he wanted to get us out of a 20-year war, so if that’s going against “Republican orthodoxy,” then the orthodoxy and its practitioners like Toomey are wrong.
Who says so? 75 million Trump voters.
If the GOP wants to truly distinguish itself from the Democrat Marxists, it had better become the party of Trump and stay the party of Trump.
The fact that he beat a slew of establishment candidates to win the nomination in 2016 — and remains atop GOP presidential polls for 2024 — proves he is the party’s standard-bearer.
Guys like Toomey are just ticked off that a billionaire reality TV host not in the ‘D.C. club’ dared to win the presidency on his first try.
