Well, they did another 2024 GOP presidential straw poll at CPAC-Dallas and, as one would guess, our former president, Donald Trump, would be the nominee. Again.
And Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis is a close 2nd — or a solid 1st if Trump decides to sit out.
But there were also some surprises in the polling as well:
But if Trump were to run in 2024, CPAC straw poll shows….
Rand Paul 1%
Nikki Haley 1%
Ted Cruz 1%
Tucker Carlson 1%
Kristi Noem 1%
Mike Pompeo 1%
Everyone else 0% (includes Hawley, Pence)

Don Jr.? Really? And how come South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem is so far down the list?
Mike Pence is done in the GOP, which really is too bad because he’s a solid conservative and we need solid conservatives.
In any event, that’s what ‘the mainstream’ GOP voter is thinking right now.
We think it’s pretty spot-on.
