Sen. Dick Blumenthal is a liar.

When this POS ran for Senate in 2010 after serving as Connecticut’s attorney general and generally feeding at the government trough most of his life, he claimed he was a Vietnam-era combat vet.

He wasn’t. He isn’t.

“Blumenthal is under fire for saying, on several occasions, that he served in the Vietnam War when he was a Marine reservist who never left U.S. soil,” Fox News reported at the time.

But because deep blue Connecticut is full of idiot Democrat voters, Blumenthal sailed to victory anyway and has been a political grifter from an otherwise insignificant state ever since.

That doesn’t mean he has no role in ‘events.’

Nowadays, this Senate lifer is spending his time threatening Trump-appointed and conservative Supreme Court justices, like his thug colleagues including Majority Leader Chuch Schumer, with ‘altering’ the make-up of the high court — as in packing it with left-wing Marxists — if they don’t rule the ‘right way’ on several cases pending decisions this session.

Constitutional expert and law professor Jonathan Turley notes:

I have previously criticized Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., for his almost unrivaled advocacy of censorship and speech controls. Blumenthal previously threatened social media companies not to 'backslide' in censoring opposing views.  Now, Blumenthal is taking up the cudgel of court packing with not so subtle threats to conservative justices that, if they do not vote with their liberal colleagues, the Court may be fundamentally altered.  He is not alone in such reckless and coercive rhetoric.

The phony war veteran told The Hill:  'It will inevitably fuel and drive an effort to expand the Supreme Court if this activist majority betrays fundamental constitutional principles. It's already driving that movement. Chipping away at Roe v. Wade will precipitate a seismic movement to reform the Supreme Court. It may not be expanding the Supreme Court, it may be making changes to its jurisdiction, or requiring a certain numbers of votes to strike down certain past precedents.'

Turley adds:

The statement is reminiscent of Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer declaring in front of the Supreme Court 'I want to tell you, Gorsuch, I want to tell you, Kavanaugh, you have released the whirlwind, and you will pay the price.' …

It is particularly chilling to see United States senators openly pressuring justices to vote with their side or face severe consequences.  Blumenthal went as far as to mention specific cases and the expected rulings. This follows raw demands in the confirmation hearing of now Justice Amy Coney Barrett that she promise to rule on particular cases 'correctly' as a condition for her confirmation.

Democrats like Blumenthal are political thugs and wannabe tyrants (as we saw during the extended COVID lockdowns in Democrat-runs states). They don’t give a damn about “fundamental constitutional principles.” They care only about power.

But it’s comments like these that are driving our people further apart as the right slowly but surely figures out there is no ‘meeting’ these authoritarians ‘in the middle.’
