It was bound to happen, and it did: Army National Guard troops on American soil have been fired upon — in Minneapolis, which has become a cauldron of hate and a smoldering fire ready to explode.

'@MNNationalGuard and @MinneapolisPD neighborhood security team was fired upon early Sunday morning in a drive-by shooting near Penn Avenue and Broadway in Minneapolis,' the Minnesota National Guard said in a short tweet thread just before 11:00 a.m.

“I am relieved to know none of our Guardsmen were seriously injured,” said Maj. Gen. Shawn Manke, the Adjutant General of the @MNNationalGuard. “This event highlights the volatility and tension in our communities right now. I ask for peace as we work through this difficult time.”

In another post, the guard said the incident occurred around 4:19 a.m. 'as a light-colored SUV fired several shots at an @MinnesotaOSN security team providing neighborhood security,' adding no one was seriously injured.

Meaning, a couple of troops were wounded, just not “seriously.”

'One Guardsman sustained an injury from shattered glass requiring additional care and was taken to a local hospital to receive treatment. The other Guardsman received only superficial injuries,” another tweet noted.

The idiots who are firing at Guard troops likely don’t know that they are trained the same way regular Army troops are trained. The majority of currently serving Guard members have served in at least one combat deployment overseas.

Effing around shooting at them is not going to end well for the fools who are doing it. But that said, they may have just fired the first shots in the next civil war.

Because regardless of what happens in the trial of Derek Chauvin, there will be rioting. And there will be blood.
