Just to prove that members of the Democratic Party literally have sold their souls to the Marxist gods, Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand composed one of the dumbest tweets ever in an effort to justify Joe Biden’s massive $2.5 trillion “infrastructure” bill.
The plan has been under assault for weeks by Republicans and conservatives who have pointed out time and again that a majority of the spending is not for traditional infrastructure — that is, roads, bridges, highways, ports, airports, and waterways.
Some Democrats have stretched the meaning of ‘infrastructure’ in the 21st century to include broadband and Internet access.
Fair enough. Clearly, our lives today would be much different and not nearly as productive without the Internet.
But beyond that inclusion there isn’t much else that counts as legitimate infrastructure.
Unless you’re Gillibrand.
The New York Democrat actually tweeted this on Wednesday: “Paid leave is infrastructure. Child care is infrastructure. Caregiving is infrastructure.”
Fox News noted that politically, infrastructure “is often considered to refer to transportation, roads, bridges and items of that nature.” Merriam-Webster’s Dictionary says infrastructure is “the system of public works of a country, state, or region,” or “the underlying foundation or basic framework (as of a system or organization).”
Needless to say, Gillibrand was blasted online for her phony baloney definition of ‘infrastructure.’

The Libertarian Party of Texas added, “Lower taxes is infrastructure. Gun rights is infrastructure. Ending the drug war is infrastructure. Are we doing this right?”
Even Democrats were doing facepalms.
One person tweeted, “Words mean things. If you use ‘infrastructure’ for everything, then it means nothing. This is just dumb pandering. BTW, I’m a lifelong democrat. I’m for all of those things. But they need to stand on their own merits.”
For the record, NBC News said in an analysis Wednesday that Biden “threw everything, including the kitchen sink, into his $2 trillion-plus ‘infrastructure’ proposal,” adding that “loading up a bill with Democratic priorities in addition to more bipartisan policy goals, such as rebuilding roads and bridges, has put Biden in danger of capsizing his own plan.”
