Well, this little spat between Joe Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin just turned real, big-time.
Remember a few days ago when Biden accused Putin of being a killer and attacking our elections? (Both true, btw).
The Conservative Brief notes:
It is not in the national interests of the United States to have a conflict with Russia but for some reason Democrats appear to be hell-bent on having an adversarial relationship with the Baltic nation.
Joe Biden this week decided to show what a tough guy he is and take swipes at Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Putin has responded in kind, The Daily Mail reported.
'I would say to him: I wish you good health,' Putin said of Biden. 'I say that without irony and not as a joke.'
But history has shown what has happened to people who cross the Russian president and good health is not generally one of those things.
That didn’t set well with Putin, obviously.
But what happened next is even worse, because it proves beyond any doubt that not only does Putin not respect Biden, he doesn’t respect Biden’s foreign policy and national security team (because he knows they’re left-wing hacks whose every policy is aimed at perpetuating their own power and weakening America).
RT.com has the details:
The president named the fight against the pandemic, regional conflict resolution, and strategic stability issues as possible topics, noting that he would be ready to talk to Biden on Friday or Monday in an 'open' chat.
'I would like to suggest to President Biden that we continue our discussion, but on the condition that we actually do it live, without any delays, directly in an open, live discussion,' Putin told the Russia 24 TV channel on Thursday. 'I think it would be interesting for the people of Russia and the people of the United States and many other countries,' he added.
Putin, of course, would have never issued a similar challenge to President Trump; our real president is too strong-minded and strong-willed — and too strong, period.
But he — like China, Iran, and North Korea — has no respect for Biden or his administration.
And make no mistake, it is dangerous when our potential enemies see us as weak.
Bad things happen in the world, and to us.
