It’s been a month-and-a-half since the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, and we still don’t much about it.
We have heard bits and pieces of information on our favorite talk radio and cable news programs, and have read a few reports here and there.
But that’s about it.
One of the biggest questions yet to be answered is why Capitol security was so dismal.
Some have suggested that it was lax because the crowd in town that day was pro-Trump, and Trump people don’t riot.
Okay, fair enough.
But new information indicates that the FBI had intelligence that rogue elements were planning to make trouble — even attack the Capitol — and yet, nothing was done.
No National Guard. No increased Capitol Police presence. No additional barriers.
The lack of security even surprised police.
The chief of the Washington, D.C., Metropolitan Police said he was left 'stunned' and 'surprised' by the initial reluctance to send the National Guard to quell the Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol.
Acting Chief Robert Contee made his remarks on Tuesday in testimony before the Senate Rules and Homeland Security committees. His comments were detailed by The Hill.
Contee said he was part of an emergency phone call at 2:22 p.m. on Jan. 6 which included leaders of the National Guard, the Capitol Police and the Department of the Army. The call came more than an hour after members of his department were sent to the Capitol.
“I was surprised at the reluctance to immediately send the National Guard to the Capitol grounds,” Contee told senators.
Now look, the men and women who protect the Capitol are not rank amateurs. And the FBI knew from online activity that an attack was coming.
Yet…no additional protections were added that day.
Why? We don’t know, and that’s on purpose.
There’s only one explanation for not having better security on Jan. 6: The Deep State wanted that attack to occur.
How else can Biden’s handlers impose new liberty-stealing restrictions, gun laws, and Patriot Act 2.0 without holding up the Capitol riot as ‘proof’ the government is ‘under siege’ by Trump supporting ‘right-wing conservatives’?
Biden's inflation is GETTING WORSE by the month...
Around the world, supply chains continue to be disrupted. Delays are now commonplace. And they're going to get worse.
There IS a financial reset coming - that's just true. All the signs indicate as much.
