Nothing changes and what if it did?
You may recall that President-elect Donald Trump was accused of packing his Cabinet with ‘corporate interests,’ picking folks like former energy executive Rex Tillerson who became the new administration’s first secretary of state.
But compared to the corporatists Joe Biden is picking for his Cabinet, Trump looks like an amateur.
And this isn’t going to make the Democratic Party’s rising Marxist wing very happy.
President-elect Joe Biden has tapped multiple corporate executives to fill various government openings over the objections of numerous progressive organizations.
Groups including Demand Justice, Public Citizen and the Sunrise Movement urged Biden in a November letter to 'decline to nominate or hire corporate executives, lobbyists and prominent corporate consultants,' referencing Democrats' staunch opposition to similar nominations from President Donald Trump.
'The [corporate-government] revolving door limits the trust Americans have in government and has time and time again led to bad policy outcomes,' the letter notes further. 'We urge you to take advantage of this unique and historic moment in American history to shut the revolving door and rebuild that trust.'
Biden's advisory team helping his transition with White House's Office of Management and Budget, however, includes executives from Amazon Web Services, Lyft, Airbnb. Additional advisors have ties to WestExec Advisors, a corporate consulting firm co-founded by Antony Blinken, his nominee for secretary of state, and Michèle Flournoy, who was floated as a possible secretary of defense.
'This puts us at a state of high alarm,' Jeff Hauser of the Revolving Door Project, an organization that seeks to limit the appointments of lobbyists and corporate executives in government, in a November interview with the New York Times.
Yeah, good luck with that, Jeff.
Democrats own Corporate America, not Republicans, the latter of whom has been transformed into the true party of the American working class under President Trump.
Also, Biden belongs to a party that steals elections and is now going to reward those who financed the effort.
Is Joe Biden's Inflation Going to Destroy our Economy and Break the Back of Consumers?
Are backed-up supply chains adding to the dilemma of bad policy?
