There is no way to describe the sorrow, frustration, and abject anger over the senseless loss of businesses due to rioting and looting.
While many Americans may agree with a particular cause, the surest way to turn them against the cause or to make them feel indifferent about it is to strip them of their livelihoods, especially during these hard times when the country is attempting to reopen after months of ill-advised coronavirus shutdowns.
Rioting and looting (and violence) came to sleepy Kenosha, Wis., last week after a police-involved shooting that is looking more and more justified by the day.
Now, after scores of businesses were burned and two people killed, the residents of these city on the coast of Lake Michigan are upset, angry, and demanding answers.
Julio Rosas traveled to the city to document what was going on and talk to people affected by the fallout of the shooting.
In the video below, he talks to a couple who have lost their 35-year-old office furniture business. The women winds up bawling at the end of her portion of the interview.
Then, Rosas also talks to a woman upset by the vandalism done to her small business.
It’s heartbreaking. It’s maddening. Oh, and all of this has been supported all summer long by pathetic elected Democrats at the local, state, and national levels, none of whom have lost a single thing or a single dime’s worth of pay during COVID-19 shutdowns they either imposed or sanctioned.
