One America Network’s Liz Wheeler and Hans von Spakovsky of the Heritage Foundation discussed accusations by Left-wing media and Democrats that Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and President Trump violated the Hatch Act during their RNC speeches this week.
Von Spakovsky, a lawyer, former Federal Elections Commission member and current manager of the Heritage Foundation’s Election Law Reform Initiative, as well as a senior legal fellow in Heritage’s Meese Center for Legal and Judicial Studies, essentially backhanded the ridiculous claims as coming from partisans who have no idea what they’re talking about.
Pompeo gave a speech via satellite from Jerusalem where he was visiting on unofficial business.
He never addressed the convention as “Secretary of State Pompeo.” And he didn’t use any government resources.
Trump, as president, cannot be held liable under the Hatch Act for being president and running for office.
This is just the latest pretend scandal that the Left is attempting to saddle the Trump administration with because his predecessor, Barack Obama, led one of the most scandal-filled, corrupt administrations in the history of our country.
Von Spakovsky lays it all out and it’s brilliant.
