To most Americans who don’t live in the Big Apple, Mayor Bill de Blasio seems more like a caricature — a cartoon — than a real politician.
That’s because he is so overtly political in everything he does, and by that we mean he never lets his Marxism get in the way of doing sensible things.
Last month, because he’s a petty little man, de Blasio authorized the painting of a ‘street mural’ featuring the words “Black Lives Matter” on a street in front of President Trump’s NYC property, Trump Tower.
In recent days, de Blasio summarily banned large gatherings in the city because…wait for it…coronavirus!!
Only, he broke his own rule by holding a large gathering to paint the BLM mural in front of Trump Tower this week.
New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio has canceled all large events and gatherings through September to combat the spread of the novel coronavirus — except Black Lives Matter protests.

Mr. de Blasio put the kibosh Thursday on all street fairs, outdoor concerts, parades and other mass get-togethers until at least Sept. 30, saying 'it's all about health and safety first' and 'we actually look at the science.'
'[T]his is obviously the thing that President Trump doesn't understand, we don't just decree that we want things to happen regardless of the human impact,' de Blasio lied in an interview with CNN's Wolf Blitzer.
'We actually look at the science. We look at the data. The data is telling us it is not time for large gatherings.”
Except ‘the science’ that permits politically-expedient large gatherings.
Ask specifically about BLM gatherings, de Blasio made clear those are just dandy.
'Look, Wolf, this is always an area of real sensitivity.'
'If you're just talking about health, we would always say, hey, folks, you know, stay home if you can,' de Blasio said. 'But we understand that this moment in history people are talking about the need for historic changes.'
Sure, mayor. Whatever you say.
