One by one, historical monuments and statues are being ripped down, defaced, or attacked across the country as angry mobs of Leftists driven and financed by unseen forces engage in a culture war aimed at changing America into something our founders actually rebelled against.
These chaotic mobs are getting help from Left-wing city administrators, politicians, and media.
That helps explain why New York’s Museum of Natural History decided last week to take down a statue of Teddy Roosevelt — one of the men on Mount Rushmore — because he’s depicted on a horse riding astride of a Native American and an African.
How wrong! How racist! How bigoted!
It’s clear from the statue, however, that Roosevelt is not demeaning his sidekicks.
Rather, the monument conveys the fact that Roosevelt not only lifted up Native Americans and those of African descent, but he served to protect and defend them as well.
But no. It’s part of our history — our American story — which is ‘systemically racist’ and therefore must be destroyed.
The fact is, though, a majority of Americans disagree with the culture warriors.
And several hundred of them showed up at the museum in New York City last weekend to demand the Roosevelt statue remain.
But since New York is ruled by Democrats who are ideologically in sync with those who seek to destroy the country as founded, not a one of them were among the statue’s supporters.
Big League Politics reports:
Liberal museum administrators announced they'd remove the equestrian statue of Theodore Roosevelt in response to the recent round of Black Lives Matter-influenced cultural purges, claiming that the statue is a supposedly 'racist' image. The statue features Roosevelt on horseback, flanked by a Native American and African man. Contrary to the assumptions of liberal ideologues, the statue is meant to celebrate Roosevelt's accomplishments as a naturalist and an explorer; having led a scientifically notable expedition to Africa that catalogued [sic] thousands of forms of animal life previously unknown to western science.
Demonstrators slammed the cultural and institutional elite for their ignorance of common American history. 'I continue to say… the politically woke are intellectually broke!'
Pro-American demonstrators chanted 'save Teddy' and 'save our history' in opposition to the museum's plans to remove the statue. Roosevelt himself had played a key role in the founding and original exhibits of the facility. More than 150 people attended in support of the statue, a strong crowd in one of the most progressive and culturally authoritarian cities in the country.
New York Young Republicans Club President Gavin Wax organized the event. Although the event gathered a sizable turnout, the conservative activist and publisher lamented that no elected New York Republicans attended to show their support for the legacy of the great American President.
One thing I mentioned in my speech today was how pathetic it is that no elected officials showed up for our rally. It was entirely a motley crew of grassroots activists. Our leadership has abandoned us.
