Some of the best people to work for the Trump administration thus far have been his press secretaries.
But the current White House spokeswoman, Kayleigh McEnany, may be the best yet.
On Wednesday, she was prepared for the inevitable ‘gotcha’ questions regarding President Trump’s upcoming June 20 rally in Tulsa, Okla., his first in-person campaign event in months thanks to the coronavirus pandemic.
For days now the gutless, cowardly, and hypocritical ‘mainstream media’ have been lambasting the decision, claiming that holding the event will only reinflame the pandemic.
And there’s no question that new infections could come as a result of the rally.
But first of all, people are making the conscious decision to attend; no one is twisting their arms (and a lot of Americans will attend)
Secondly, and more importantly in terms of the media, where was their concern over the past several weeks when hundreds of thousands of people ignored ‘social distancing’ to protest, demonstrate, and riot following the unfortunate death of George Floyd in Minneapolis?
Under the usual inane badgering from CNN’s Jim Acosta, who has rarely asked a question of any real value to the American news consumer, McEnany pointed to a New York Post story that highlighted the hypocrisy.
“It’s really remarkable, and I think the American people have taken notice,” she said.
You bet, they have.
