Sen. Mitt Romney, the only Republican who voted to convict President Donald Trump during his baseless impeachment, is now admonishing him to stop “vile, baseless” attacks against MSNBC host and fellow deranged NeverTrumper Joe Scarborough.
'I know Joe Scarborough. Joe is a friend of mine. I don't know T.J. Klausutis,' Romney wrote on Twitter, referring to the widower of staffer Lori Klausutis, who died in 2001 in the Florida office of Scarborough, then a GOP congressman.
It was rumored at the time that Scarborough may have been having an affair with Lori Klausutis, a marathon runner who keeled over from an apparent undiagnosed heart condition and struck her head on a desk, according to a coroner’s report. Both were married at the time.
'Joe can weather vile, baseless accusations but T.J.? His heart is breaking. Enough already,' the Utah Republican added.

Romney’s tweet comes after President Trump suggested that the intern’s death is “a Cold Case” that ultimately may come back to haunt Scarborough.
'Psycho Joe Scarborough is rattled, not only by his bad ratings but all of the things and facts that are coming out on the internet about opening a Cold Case. He knows what is happening!' the president tweeted.
That prompted T.J. Klausutis to write a letter to Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey urging him to remove Trump’s tweet. Dorsey apologized for it but did not have it removed.
As for the president, frankly, we don’t know what he knows. However, we do know this: When he makes stuff like this public and then doubles down on it, he tends to be right a lot more than he’s wrong. Just look at the Russian collusion hoax as an example.
Did Scarborough have something to do with his intern’s death? We have no idea.
But we do know this. Just a few years after Lori Klausutis’ death, Scarborough — teeing up to begin his MSNBC career — thought her death was something to laugh about.
