Conservative talk host and Reagan Justice Department official Mark Levin unloaded on former President Barack Obama this week after the Trump administration dropped its case against Michael Flynn, calling it his “blue dress” moment, a reference to former President Bill Clinton’s affair with intern Monica Lewinski.
After praising Attorney General William Barr, Levin said there was no way Obama was in the dark about “Spygate” and the machinations behind entrapping Flynn while targeting the 2016 Trump campaign with spies.
Levin noted during an interview with Fox News’ Sean Hannity:
Bill Barr is a great man. I was chief of staff to another great attorney general. Thank God we have this attorney general — you know what this is? This is Barack Obama’s blue dress. That’s what that is without the DNA on it. Let me explain what I mean. We are supposed to believe that during the Obama administration, the FBI went rogue, the Department of Justice went rogue, the CIA went rogue, the DNI went rogue, the NSC went rogue.
We have all these leaks in the newspapers, ‘The New York Times’ and ‘The Washington Post’ that anybody can read and see, and Barack Obama didn’t know anything — poor Barack Obama, poor Joe Biden. The fact of the matter is they’ve never been asked. They’ve never been asked about any role they had, any knowledge they had. Those presidential briefing documents have never been made public. This is a massive cover-up of the greatest scandal in American history. We expect, and we don’t like it when the Russians interfere with our elections or the Chinese or Iran. Or the North Koreans. They’re the enemy. And they ought to pay for it, but we don’t expect the Obama administration on the Democrats to interfere with our election and to send spies into the opposition party’s campaign, to lie to a federal court, to fix evidence and to try and use the 25th Amendment to take the president of the United States out. That’s why [I’ve been] calling this all along a silent coup.
Levin then explained how the revelation last week that Flynn was set up by FBI agents sent by then-director James Comey to entrap him became Obama’s “blue dress without the DNA” — a dress belonging to Lewinski that proved her relationship with Clinton.
Here is Obama’s blue dress [holds up Flynn-related documents]. Now, why is this important? Let me take a minute on this. This tells us that Obama knew. He knew. Obama started by saying he had learned about the information about Flynn and his conversation with Kislyak, the Russian ambassador about sanctions.
Obama specified he didn’t want any additional information on the matter but was seeking information on whether the White House should be treating Flynn any differently. So he doesn’t want any information, but he does want information. And what does he mean? We should treat Flynn differently. It’s assumed he means don’t give him intelligence information. I don’t think it means that at all. I think it means take out Flynn. Why do I say that? Because we have as you know this January 20th, 2017 memo, self-serving email from Susan Rice — 12:15 she writes it, for 15 minutes the president of the United States has been inaugurated. She runs to her office and writes this self-serving thing.
First sentence, President Obama began the conversation by stressing his continued commitment to ensuring that every aspect of this issue is handled by intelligence agencies by the book. Everyone has been focused on by the book. I’m focusing on his continuing commitment. Well, you don’t have a continued commitment if this is the first time you knew something on January 5th. The fact of the matter is Obama has known all about this. As a former chief of staff to an Attorney General, I can tell you that you’re not going to go to the FISA court going after a Trump surrogate without letting the president of the United States know. You’re not going to send spies in the opposition campaign without giving the president a heads up. You’re not going to mess around with a dossier like they did without the president of the United States knowing about the dossier. And the one man who is never questioned about this by any reporter at any time or any investigative organization is Barack Obama.
Levin then said President Trump is owed a huge apology from Democrats and from Obama but that he isn’t likely to get one.
