(TNS) Left-wing Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot is better than you, peon citizen, and she doesn’t mind letting you know that.

She did something so outrageous over the weekend that even a socialist city alderman called her out for it: She defied her own ‘stay-at-home’ order, as well as the state’s order, to get a haircut, even though barbers and stylists have been told to shut down their businesses indefinitely because “muh coronavirus.”

Then, when caught, she got defiant and essentially told anyone who didn’t like it to go stuff it.

Mayor Lori Lightfoot defended getting a haircut over the weekend even though barbers and stylists were shut down under the state’s stay-at-home order, saying she’s the face of the city and the woman who cut her hair wore a mask.

Asked about photos on social media showing her with a stylist, Lightfoot acknowledged getting a haircut, then said the public cares more about other issues.

“I think what really people want to talk about is, we’re talking about people dying here. We’re talking about significant health disparities. I think that’s what people care most about,” Lightfoot said.

In response to a follow-up question, she said, “The woman who cut my hair had a mask and gloves on so we are, I am practicing what I’m preaching.”

Tone, meet deaf. It’s okay for stylists and barbers who wear gloves and a mask to give Her Highness a haircut, but not when it comes to the plebe citizens. Only then is it considered ‘non-essential business activity’ that must be shut down due to “muh coronavirus.”

But it gets worse, and much more arrogant:

A reporter asked the mayor about one of her “stay home, save lives” public service announcements where Lightfoot admonishes an off-screen person by saying, “Getting your roots done is not essential.”

Asked about that, a visibly annoyed Lightfoot said, “I’m the public face of this city. I’m on national media and I’m out in the public eye.

“I’m a person who, I take my personal hygiene very seriously. As I said, I felt like I needed to have a haircut,” Lightfoot said. “I’m not able to do that myself, so I got a haircut. You want to talk more about that?”

If you live in Chicago, the answer to that self-serving, haughty question should be, “Hell yes, we want to talk more about it. You bet we do.”

We don’t know what’s worse, the fact that Lightfoot thinks this is no big deal or that she is so defensive.

Either way, what’s really interesting is that even a socialist alderman, Carlos Ramirez-Rosa, gets it. He blasted the mayor for her arrogance and hypocrisy.

“She is under no obligation to look good on national TV. She is under no obligation to book national interviews. But she is under an obligation to follow and promote social distancing in order to save lives,” Ramirez-Rosa, a frequent Lightfoot critic, tweeted. “This is a bad example for our city.”

You bet it is. And it’s a great way to start riots, too.

Many Americans will blow this off as no big deal, accepting Lightfoot’s BS excuse which is, essentially, ‘I’m better than you.’

But many won’t. And the more examples we see of elitist abusers like her while the rest of the country remains under economic quarantine imposed by people like her, the more likely we plebes and peons will come to resent them and the situation they have placed us in.

Hide and watch.
