(TNS) As President Donald Trump released a two-page set of guidelines for Americans to follow for the next 15 days to help slow the already slow spread of coronavirus, U.S. health officials were noting that our first COVID-19 patients have already recovered.
For example, the first three coronavirus patients in Maryland have fully recovered, state health officials announced, The Epoch Times reported.

“I’m happy to report that the first three cases reported last Thursday have all been cleared to return back to their normal daily schedules,†Montgomery County Health Officer Dr. Travis Gayles said in a video update.
The three patients included a couple in their 70s and someone not related to them in their 50s.
The Epoch Times noted further:
Health officials across the country have reported patients fully recovering. About four out of five patients don’t require hospitalization, according to data gleaned from cases around the world that’s been widely cited by U.S. health officials.
A Washington state resident who was the first person in the state to test positive for COVID-19, the disease the virus causes, “fully recovered†in late February, health officials said.
That man became infected after traveling to Wuhan, China, the epicenter of the new illness, in January. He was isolated at Providence Regional Medical Center in Everett on Jan. 21 and released into home isolation on Feb. 3.
“He is now considered fully recovered and free to go about his regular activities. We cannot thank him enough for his patience and cooperation throughout the entire process,†the Snohomish Health District said in a statement.
And health officials in Oklahoma have announced that the state’s first patient has recovered as well.
The patient tested negative twice, “which is the indicator of recovery,†the Tulsa Health Department said in a statement.
Meanwhile, in California, Nebraska, Illinois, and Arizona health officials have also reported patients recovering from COVID-19.
This isn’t ‘news’ per se, but it’s certainly not being reported widely enough.
“Among those who are infected, most will recover,†the World Health Organization (WHO) director-general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus told reporters last week.
And while Chinese officials have likely underreported that country’s coronavirus stats, some reliable media outlets do say that thousands of patients there have recovered as well and the country is going back to work.
As for Trump, the UK Daily Mail is intentionally misreporting his guidelines as a “lockdown” when the president gave no such order.
Again, he issued 15-day guidelines that include some of the same things we’ve seen states and cities do already:
— Close restaurants and bars
— Don’t visit nursing homes
— Cancel schools in “community spread” zones
— Order food via takeout

— Avoid gatherings of more than 10 people
— Do the other stuff too — wash your hands, stay home if you’re not feeling well, seek medical attention if your condition worsens, etc.
As Wayne Allen Root noted in a column published Saturday, he’s “betting on America” — meaning, we (and the president) might seem down and out right now, but we’re not really out.
