Jim Acosta Makes Disgusting Comment After Trump Addresses Nation On Coronavirus

Everyone but CNN knows the coronavirus originated in China

(TNS) President Donald Trump delivered an address from the Oval Office on Wednesday night and detailed a series of actions his administration has taken and plans to take in order to combat the coronavirus.

Soon after Trump’s speech, CNN’s White House Correspondent Jim Acosta — who has made a name for himself by trying to antagonize the president — made a total fool of himself by honing in on a few words the president said.

During a live interview on CNN’s Chris Cuomo’s show, Acosta accused Trump of being xenophobic because he correctly mentioned that the coronavirus came from China.

“At one point during this address the president referred to the coronavirus as a ‘foreign virus,” Acosta said.

“That I think was interesting because as I was talking to sources earlier this evening, one of the points that the president wanted to make tonight, wanted to get across to Americans is that this virus did not start here but that they’re dealing with it,” he added.

“Now, why the president would go as far as to describe it as a foreign virus, that is something we’ll also be asking questions about,” he said.

“But it should be pointed out that Stephen Miller, who is an immigration hardliner, who advises the president – is one of his top domestic policy advisers and speechwriters, was a driving force in writing this speech,” Acosta continued.

“And I think it is going to smack, it is going to come across to a lot of Americans as smacking of xenophobia,” he said.

During his speech, Trump announced his decision to suspend all travel from the European Union for the next 30 days.

“We will be suspending all travel from Europe to the United States for the next 30 days,” Trump said during an address to the nation from the Oval Office that lasted about ten minutes.

The president noted that the European Union failed to ban travel into their country from areas affected by the coronavirus.

He said there would be exemptions for Americans traveling from Europe who had been screened, as well as from the United Kingdom.

“The European Union failed to take the same precautions and restrict travel from China and other hot spots. As a result, a large number of new clusters in the United States were seeded by new travelers from Europe,” Trump said.

He said that the ban was a “strong but necessary” action to prevent the virus from spreading further into the United States and would begin on Friday.

The president also urged Americans to do their part to prevent the spread of the virus.

“Each of us has a role to play,” Trump said, urging Americans to wash their hands, cover their mouths when coughing, and clean often-used surfaces.

The president said he would also declare emergency action to help people affected by the economic and health consequences of the virus.

“This is not a financial crisis, this is just a temporary moment of time that we will overcome,” he said.

Trump ordered the Small Business Administration to provide economic loans to areas disrupted by the virus.

The president also asked for Congress to pass payroll tax relief.

He praised the strength of the American economy and the skill of our medical professionals to fight the virus.

“The virus will not have a chance against us,” Trump said.
