(TNS) Roger Stone’s defense team has petitioned the federal court overseeing their client’s case for a new trial after learning that the lead juror in his original trial hid her overt disdain for President Donald Trump.
And that’s germane to the case since Stone is a long-time associate and friend of the president.

What’s more, Stone’s defense team doesn’t want U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson, an Obama appointee, to oversee the retrial or, more to the point, to be in a position to even decide whether he should get one because they believe — rightfully so — that she’s just as biased.
The Epoch Times reported:
Attorneys for Stone, an associate of President Donald Trump, filed a motion on Friday asking Judge Amy Berman Jackson, an Obama appointee, to recuse herself because she praised the jurors before deciding on Stone’s request for a new trial that rests on the issue of whether the jurors were impartial.
Jackson said in a new court order dismissing Stone’s motion to disqualify her that her remarks praising the jurors came as part of an explanation about “why defendant’s lies to Congress mattered.â€
“Sure, the defense is free to say: So what? Who cares? But I’ll say this: Congress cared. The United States Department of Justice and the United States Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia that prosecuted the case and is still prosecuting the case cared. The jurors who served with integrity under difficult circumstances cared. The American people cared. And I care,†Jackson told the courtroom before sentencing Stone to more time in prison — 40 months — than everyone involved in launching the bogus Spygate probe against Trump’s 2016 campaign (0 months).
Yes, that praise includes high marks for the jury forewoman, Tomeka Hart, who lied to court officers during pre-trial jury selection when she said she didn’t “pay that close attention†to the probe into Russian interference in the 2016 election — the probe led by special counsel Robert Mueller, whose lawyers indicted Stone, for the record.
The Times notes:
Hart’s Twitter account was full of posts about the special counsel’s investigation, including a retweet of a January 2019 post from a CNN contributor that attempted to downplay allegations that the FBI’s raid on Stone’s house wasn’t warranted.
She also wrote that Trump is our “KKK President,” so there’s that.
As to Jackson’s bias, Fox News’ Tucker Carlson addressed it during his program last week, in calling for her impeachment.
But Carlson’s been onto Jackson for some time now. He blasted her bias back in November as well. We reported:
From eye-rolling at Stone to approving jurors who have massive conflicts of interest and who have vocalized in her court how much they despise the president, it’s clear that Stone — a long-time political adviser to the president — will never get a fair trial.
Not in the deep blue haven of D.C., where the Garbage Party rules with an iron fist and no approval of the president is either permissible or tolerated.
So he’s going to be convicted of lying to Congress, Carlson noted with sarcasm, adding that lawmakers face no such legal jeopardy when they lie their tails off to the American people.
“What ought to be automatically disqualifying is Amy Berman Jackson’s behavior from the bench,†Carlson noted.
“No fair-minded person could condone it. If there were still honest liberals left in this country, they would be protesting outside the courtroom,†he added.

At this point, two things appear obvious: 1) Berman Jackson is very biased in this case; and 2) she’s not going to do the right thing and recuse herself.
Because being an Obama judge means never having to say you’re sorry.
