(TNS) As Iranian protests grow in the wake of the regime’s hardline stance against the U.S., crippling sanctions which just got worse, and its accidental downing of a Ukrainian airliner, House Republicans offered a resolution showing support for the Iranian people.

But because President Donald Trump has also voiced his unmitigated support for the Iranian people as well, the Garbage Party majority in the lower chamber will refuse to do the right thing and support those pining for freedom.
“The president has been pretty clear,” White House spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham told Fox News host Harris Faulkner on Monday. “He stands with the very brave Iranian people who are protesting their leadership. That’s a good thing.”
“I think that the president has been very decisive this entire time,” Grisham added. “It was because of him that he ordered a targeted strike that took out a terrorist who had an intention to kill a lot of Americans and now he is, again, saying the Iranian people should be allowed to do what they want to do and not be hurt by it.”
As such, Republicans led by House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) on Tuesday offered a resolution showing solidarity with protesters battling the Iranian regime.
And it was summarily blocked by majority Democrats because they mustn’t be seen as giving any sort of political victory to the president — even when people are risking their lives for freedom.
What a disappointment —Democrats just blocked a vote on a resolution supporting the Iranian protestors.
This is not the time for partisan politics. This should be a time for the US Congress to speak with one voice to condemn an Iranian regime that kills its own people.

House Democrats blocked @GOPLeader's resolution in support of the Iran protesters. I applaud Leader McCarthy for trying to bring Republicans and Democrats together on this.
Supporting a resolution so basic shouldn't be this difficult. The House is better than this.

It’s likely that because Democrats are stricken when Trump Derangement Syndrome McCarthy knew the resolution wasn’t going to go anywhere.
But he now has Democrats on record as saying that scoring political points against Trump is far more important than backing liberty movements in authoritarian regimes.
This, after Democrats last year complained that Republicans in the Senate weren’t doing enough to show their support for Iranians when protests began over rises in gasoline prices.
McCarthy’s resolution should be a no-brainer even for partisan Democrats.
Townhall notes that it does the following: 1) condemns Iran for killing over 1,000 Iranian citizens who were protesting their government, 2) condemns the Government of Iran for shooting down Ukraine International Airlines Flight 752, 3) condemns the Government of Iran for repeatedly lying to its people and to the world about its responsibility for the downing of Ukraine International Airlines Flight 752, 4) calls on the Government of Iran to refrain from the use of violence, and protect the rights of freedom of expression and peaceful assembly.
“The Iranian people - and the whole world - need to know that America stands with those who stand for freedom, and it’s pathetic that Democrats have refused to lend their support,” said Mark Bednar, McCarthy’s Strategic Communications Director.

Meanwhile, Senate Republicans aren’t giving the president much leeway to deal with Iran, either, which is as baffling as it is frustrating.
Baffling, because all Trump did was take out one of the biggest terrorist threats to U.S. forces in the Middle East when he ordered a strike against Qassem Soleimani; he’s not looking to start a war with Iran.
In fact, President Trump has been trying to end them — in Syria, where he was criticized by Right and Left for leaving, Afghanistan, where he’s been criticized by Right and Left for trying to leave, and Iraq, where the pullout criticism has been equally bipartisan.

Demon-seed dem-marxists are more threat to America than Solemani.
If we have a civil war, there will be no remorse or regrets from me. I even shun liberals in my family.
JUST PROVES ONCE AGAIN THAT THE HYPOCRITICAL DEMONRATS WILL DO ANYTHING (INCLUDING THROWING TRUMP AND AMERICA UNDER THE BUS) TO KEEP TRUMP FROM DOING ANYTHING GOOD AND DECENT FOR PEOPLE AROUND THE WORLD SACRIFICING THEIR LIVES FOR FREEDOM FROM TYRANNICAL GOVERNMENTS (WHICH THE OLD DEMOCRATS USE TO DO… BUT NOT THESE ASSHOLE DEMONRATS OF TODAY) TELLING US AND THE REST OF THE WORLD THAT THEY ARE THE PARTY OF LIARS, CHEATERS, AND GENUINE ASSHOLES THAT ABSOLUTELY “NOBODY” NEEDS. STAND BEHIND TRUMP, IRAN, HE IS TRYING TO DO THE RIGHT THING FOR YOUR “DEPLORABLES” BEING USED AND ABUSED BY THE RELIGIOUS HIERARCHY AND MILITARY JUST LIKE IN OUR COUNTRY BY THE DEEP STATE.
