(TNS) If you sense a dramatic shift in the normal manner in which our elected officials conduct themselves in the age of President Donald Trump, you’re very perceptive, dear reader, because we sense it too.
Democrats have gone completely off the rails since this man became president, using outrageous language, threats, attempts at intimidation, rule-breaking, and completely loss of decorum on the floor of the House and Senate, as well as during hearings.
— Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) was one of the first of the lunatics to call for impeaching President Trump with calls of ‘Impeach 45! Impeach 45’ at political rallies.
And Waters has actually implored her supporters and Democrat voters around the country to ‘confront’ and harass the president’s Cabinet members and other officials — like that wouldn’t escalate into violence at some point.
— Which happened, by the way to Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) who was attacked by a neighbor. Oh, and several other Republican lawmakers have been intimidated and threatened by people on a scale never seen before.
We reported in June 2018:
On June 14 House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, R-La., and former staffer Matt Mika, lay bleeding on a ballfield in Northern Virginia after being shot by Left-wing lunatic and socialist Bernie Sanders supporter James Hodgkinson.
The New York Post reports:
Rep. Barry Loudermilk of Georgia bought body armor. Rep. Gregg Harper hired armed security guards for events back home in Mississippi. And Rep. Dan Dovonan fortified his Brooklyn and Staten Island offices with security cameras and buzzer systems.
This is the new normal for members of Congress. …
The threats against them have skyrocketed.
In 2016, there were 902 threatening incidents and communications against members of Congress. By 2017, the reports had more than doubled to about 2,000, according to the House Sergeant at Arms office.
In response, the House Administration Committee allocated $25,000 to each member in 2017 and again in 2018 to beef up their personal and office security, prompting members to hire bodyguards for events and equip offices with panic buttons and shatter-resistant glass.
— Speaking of telling supporters to “get in the faces” of Trump officials, we give you Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.), who has about as much chance of becoming president as any of us here at TNS do.
— Brett Kavanaugh was so maligned, lied about, and character assassinated that it led Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) to virtually scream at Democrats for their shameful and unprecedented conduct.
The foul treatment has continued as Trump’s tenure lengthened, culminating in recent weeks with this phony impeachment drive.
Over the past month, Democrats have broken rules and treated the minority like they were either non-existent or worse, like they were somehow less than worthy of serving in the same chamber, as Rep. Doug Collins passionately pointed out Wednesday:
— Rep. Jerrold Nadler (D-N.Y.), actually took to the floor of the House to slander a fellow member, Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas), and accuse him of spreading “Russian propaganda,” which drew a shouted rebuke from Gohmert:
What a coward Nadler is; waltzing up to the mic and dropping what would have been a legally actionable falsehood if he wasn’t a serving member of Congress.
— And we, of course, recall how newly-elected Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) promised her constituents that “we’re gonna impeach the mother**ker!” shortly before being sworn in (but it was just something Democrats had to do because…evidence…or something).

What a ‘class act.’
Yes, the decorum is vanishing quickly, and Democrats are mostly responsible for it. What’s next — fistfights on the House and Senate floor?

The last time that happened we were headed towards civil war. Then, opposing political sides could not solve the issue of slavery; today, we can’t solve the issue of abject Leftism, which is embraced by the same party that founded and embraced slavery, the KKK, and abortion.
