(TNS) After his impeachment hearing testimony earlier this month, students at Georgetown University School of Law called for Prof. Jonathan Turley to be terminated.
How dare he defend the actions of President Donald Trump when every single thinking person in the country knows he tried to “bribe” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky with a “quid pro quo” or something…about military aid…or just not…or, who cares, it doesn’t matter because Orange Man Bad!
Turley is an old-fashioned liberal who votes for Democrats but is nevertheless far more concerned with the sanctity of the Constitution and the form of government it mandates for our country — his expertise — than he is scoring political points.
So he was clear in his message to House Democrats when he testified: Nothing President Trump has done warrants removing him from office. Nothing was illegal. There are no ‘high crimes and misdemeanors,’ the constitutional standard for impeachment. So don’t do it.
Meh. Leftists and their perpetually outraged minions, all of whom have been propagandized by colleagues of Turley, don’t want to hear that. All they want to do is perp-walk Trump to the gallows and dispose of him, then turn their attention to Americans who put him in office.
In any event, the backdrop to Turley’s testimony and the Democrats’ current drive to impeach the president for nothing is the very real scandal known as Spygate, which is obviously ongoing. “Ukraine” is just the latest excuse after “Russiagate” and Robert Mueller failed.
Following the release of Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s report last week on the FBI’s massive abuses of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) court, Americans learned a great many things:
— James Comey is as corrupt as he is tall;
— Comey led a corrupt cabal of fellow agents and officials in an effort to prevent Donald Trump from becoming president, then undermine him after he won;
— Obama’s Justice Department was in on the scandal as well;
— Carter Page, the Trump campaign official spied on, was a former CIA informant (thus cleared as a reliable asset);
— The FBI knew that Page was an informant because the CIA told the bureau;
— An FBI lawyer left out that fact in helping prepare the four FISA warrant affidavits used to spy on Page;
— Page was spied upon long after the bureau and DoJ knew that he wasn’t a Russian operative;
— Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper has never said publicly why he did not contact the bureau to inform them they were spying on a known CIA asset;
— Former CIA Director John Brennan has never said publicly why he did not contact the bureau to inform them they were spying on a known agency asset.
And now, since all of this has been exposed, not a single person responsible for abusing Page, an American citizen, has stepped forward to at least offer him an apology, as Turley noted Saturday.
At what point does someone apologize to Carter Page? He is, in fact, the victim of this criminal referral. He is the victim of what Horowitz describes as a “misleading” basis presented to the FISA court. He is a victim of media “groupthink”. https://t.co/7qxiEWZnHE

We’ll not hold our breath.
Page has filed a civil lawsuit against the Justice Department. If there really is any ‘justice’ left following Barack Obama’s destruction of our governing institutions, he’ll win bigly.
