(TNS) When the Garbage Party is large and in charge, they nearly always overstep their bounds and blow up long-held principles, rules, and processes.
House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler is currently doing that to his panel.
The rules clearly state that the chair is supposed to allow the minority party a day in which they can schedule their own witnesses. That is especially important for the country, or it should be, because the subject is the impeachment of a sitting president.
But no. Nadler isn’t having any of it because Democrats are tyrants and their authoritarian tendencies override their sense of fair play. So he’s blowing up the rules in order to serve a short-term Democrat interest.
Former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nevada) did the same thing. In 2013, in a rush to approve as many Left-wing hacks as Obama could nominate to the federal bench, Reid invoked the “nuclear option” — he moved to eliminate the 60-vote rule on executive branch nominations and federal judicial appointments so that they could be approved by a simple Democrat majority.
That came back to bite Democrats in the nether-regions when Republicans captured the Senate and new new majority leader, Mitch McConnell, not only kept Reid’s change in place but he also blew up the 60-vote rule for Supreme Court nominees as well.
The Judiciary Committee’s ranking member, Doug Collins (R-Ga.), has repeatedly attempted to force Nadler to observe the rules, as have other Republicans on the panel. Nadler refuses, and the sparks fly.
If this doesn’t make it obvious that the Garbage Party knows that they don’t have a legitimate impeachment case against President Trump, nothing will.

The rank partisanship and the blatant rule-breaking will lead to consequences for Democrats down the road if the GOP manages to re-take the House next year.
