(TNS) When Sen. Lindsey Graham (RINO-S.C.) took over the chairmanship of the powerful Senate Judiciary Committee last year, he promised to get to the bottom of the Spygate coup conspiracy against President Trump.

He pledged to hold hearings, haul noted figures before the committee and grill them until they gave him answers.

More than year into his tenure, Graham hasn’t done jack.

He’s held no hearings related to Spygate. He’s called no witnesses to testify. He’s not. done. anything.

And now, we hear, he’s going to relinquish his chairmanship next year (if the GOP holds the Senate, as expected) and give it back to Sen. Charles Grassley (R-Iowa), who relinquished it to become chair of the Senate Finance Committee.

Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) plans to hand the chairmanship of the Senate Judiciary Committee back to Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa.) in the next Congress.  Graham took over the panel this year from Grassley, who left to chair the Senate Finance Committee.

In an interview Thursday, Graham said Grassley asked to come back after his tenure on the Senate Finance Committee. Graham responded “absolutely.”

“Love Chuck Grassley. That’s the way the Senate works,” Graham said. “He took the Finance Committee so I could be chairman, and he’ll come back and fill out his time, and I’ll come back, and somebody else will come along.”

What’s going on here?

Fox News’ Tucker Carlson had Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) on his program Thursday night to discuss it all.

The Conservative Treehouse explored this further:

The Senate Judiciary Committee could be questioning a myriad of people from the DOJ, FBI and national security apparatus that have been identified as participating in a lengthy scheme to usurp the office of the presidency; however, Senator Graham has done nothing.

Ukraine President Petro Poroshenko presented US Senators John McCain and Lindsey Graham with the Order of Freedom and the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise respectively, ahead of a US delegation meeting in Kiev, 2016.

The Senate Judiciary Committee will have structural organizational responsibilities for an upcoming senate impeachment trial after the House impeachment managers deliver their articles of impeachment.

Did we all just see some of the Washington two-step? Did Graham set this up so he could chair a committee that could have been providing us with answers all along so he could sabotage any effort to do so?

Or is he merely protecting the process while Attorney General William Barr and U.S. Attorney John Durham finish their criminal probe into the Spygate conspirators?

Because it’s one or the other.

But given Graham’s close affiliation with the late Sen. McCain, and knowing his animosity towards President Trump, we’re more inclined to believe the latter at this point.

We’ll see how it all plays out.
