(NationalSentinel) In the wake of the Israeli government’s decision to deny Reps. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) and Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) access to the country, one New York Times columnist is calling out his colleagues in the “mainstream” media for ignoring a much bigger scandal — the fact that their trip was going to be arranged by a group with ties to Neo-Nazis.

During a segment on CNN Tuesday, NYT writer Bari Weiss decried the media’s one-sided coverage of the planned trip, in which the various establishment media outlets blasted President Donald Trump for suggesting Israel deny the two anti-Semitic congresswomen access and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for doing so.

The Israeli government eventually agreed to grant Tlaib permission to enter the country to see her grandmother, but she turned it down.

“One of the huge stories this week was that fact that Benjamin Netanyahu decided to bar the entry of two Democratic members of Congress Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib from entering Israel based on Trump’s bullying him into that position. He reversed course,” Weiss said.

“Now, that’s a huge story, one I wrote a column about, but another huge story, one that isn’t being covered by any mainstream paper or network is the fact that their trip to Israel, or as they called it ‘Palestine,’ was being sponsored by a group that literally published neo-Nazi blood libels and said that it supported female suicide bombers, hailing them as heroes. That’s a scandal,” Weiss added.

“If someone like (Rep.) Steve King (R-Iowa) went to Norway or Sweden to meet with neo-Nazi groups, that would be front-page news.”

Despite this brief and all-too-rare moment of self-reflection, the mainstream media remains largely committed to the destruction of Trump — his presidency, for certain, but also him personally.

Meanwhile, the president remains on the offensive in making Tlaib and Omar, and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), the new radical Left faces of the Democratic Party.
