(NationalSentinel) Illinois’ Democrat governor has signed legislation that will require public schools in the state to incorporate LGBTQ historical figures in lesson plans.

Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker (D) signed House Bill 246 late last week, mandating the following: “In public schools only, the teaching of history shall include a study of the roles and contributions of lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people in the history of this country and this State.”

“THNX Gov. Pritzker, legislative champs @staterepmoeller @SenatorSteans, amazing partners @ILSafeSchools @lgbt_legacy!” Equality Illinois, the state’s largest LGBTQ civil rights group tweeted Friday.

State Sen. Heather Steans, one of the bill’s sponsors, said earlier this year that lawmakers sought to “not only teach an accurate version of history but also promote acceptance of the LGBTQ community.”

“One of the best ways to overcome intolerance is through education and exposure to different people and viewpoints,” the Democrat said, WGN reported.

Critics will no doubt cite the Left’s hypocrisy regarding their intolerance for Christians, conservatives, and others who simply have a different viewpoint regarding LGBTQ lifestyles.

Also, as the Left continues to write founding historical figures out of lesson plans — citing ‘racism’ ‘slavery,’ and other injustices vanquished long ago — as well as civics and other information important to the maintenance of a healthy, functioning republic, they are mandating the inclusion of ‘historical’ figures based solely on sexual preferences.

The biggest losers, in addition to school children who are soon going to be further indoctrinated in Left-wing political ideology, are Illinois taxpayers who will have no choice and no say in funding this new initiative.

At least until the next round of elections.
