(NationalSentinel) For years, we have known that the so-called “mainstream” media has been in the tank for the Democrat Party, serving as its propaganda division.
In the age of President Donald Trump, it became obvious that the Washington establishment press has also served as a ‘useful idiot’ conduit for the deep state, essentially regurgitating whatever information an intelligence or federal law enforcement official fed them.
So long as it negatively impacted the president.
On Friday, Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton discussed a rarity — actual evidence of media-deep state collusion in an ongoing attempt to knock off our duly elected president, proving without question that the Fourth Estate in America has allowed itself to become precisely the thing our founders attempted to prevent: An official organ of government.
In particular, Fitton, during an appearance on Fox Business Network, addressed information his organization uncovered showing that a reporter at The New York Times was feeding bogus information to the FBI to help effectuate the “Spygate” scandal.
“Just revealed that the Failing and Desperate New York Times was feeding false stories about me, & those associated with me, to the FBI. This shows the kind of unprecedented hatred I have been putting up with for years with this Crooked newspaper. Is what they have done legal?” POTUS tweeted regarding the discovery on Friday.
“I know the New York Times is trying to defend itself today,” Fitton said, but “the emails speak for themselves.”
JW uncovered an email to the spokesman of the Justice Department from the Times reporter “describing a story that his colleagues were working on about Jared Kushner and Russia — a story that we know was planted to make Donald Trump look bad…none of which have panned out,” Fitton noted further.
“The reporter wasn’t asking for a comment, he sent the information along” to the Justice Department, which “seemed unusual,” Fitton continued.
He noted there is a second email “where the New York Times is willing to give the FBI leadership a heads-up, a preview, on a story,” he said. “So..if that’s journalism, I think Americans would be upset about it because it looks like the media is working with the FBI [to get] Trump.”
The Washington Examiner, in an updated story, noted:
Journalist Michael Schmidt sent an email on March 23, 2017, to FBI Assistant Director for Public Affairs Michael Kortan, stating that his colleagues were reporting on the FBI’s Russia investigation and had stumbled onto some information about President Trump’s son-in-law and top adviser.
“Wanted to flag you on something. Three of my colleagues are working on a story about the Russia investigation. They’re told that Jared Kushner is among the individuals who the F.B.I. is scrutinizing for their meetings with Russians,” Schmidt said. “My colleagues were told that Ambassador Kislyak, after meeting Kushner and General Flynn in early December at Trump Tower, set up a meeting with Kushner and a Russian banker. Kushner ultimately met with the Russian banker. The banker worked for Alpha Bank. Thanks. Mike.”
The next day, Kortan forwarded the email to FBI special agent Peter Strzok, who was leading the bureau’s Russia investigation, and Jonathan Moffa, an FBI counterintelligence officer.
Three days after that email, on March 27, 2017, the Times published a report headlined, “Senate Committee to Question Jared Kushner Over Meetings With Russians.” That story “revealed Kushner’s meeting with Sergey Gorkov, the head of a state-owned Russian development bank VEB, was under scrutiny by the FBI and congressional investigators,” the Examiner noted.
The Times dismissed the revelation. “Our reporter ran details of a story — that related to the FBI — by the FBI before publishing the story. Routine, responsible journalism,” the paper said in a statement to the Examiner.
Okay, sure. But — what about the fact that the establishment press was simply regurgitating stories fed to them by deep state operatives within the law enforcement and intelligence community — stories that were later proven to be fake but were nonetheless used by the FBI as ‘evidence’ in securing FISA court warrants to spy on Trump campaign figures?
We've learned NEW information suggesting our suspicions are true: FBI/DOJ have previously leaked info to the press, and then used those same press stories as a separate source to justify FISA's
Unreal. Tomorrow's Bruce Ohr interview is even more critical. Did he ever do this?
— Mark Meadows (@MarkMeadows) August 28, 2018
In an email to The Daily Caller last year, Meadows clarified: “We have emails and texts plainly showing the FBI leaks to the media, raising major red flags. If FBI executives want the American people to believe they haven’t used leaks to their advantage, they are not being honest.â€
The Federalist added in August 2018:
The warrant applications themselves, which were released, albeit heavily redacted, last month, revealed that the FBI used a Yahoo News article about Trump campaign associate Carter Page’s trip to Moscow in July 2016. This article contained information that Steele leaked to that reporter himself, according to the reporter who wrote the aforementioned article, though the FBI has maintained that Steele was not the source.
And late last month we reported that Michael Horowitz, the Justice Department inspector general, found a ranking FBI official was also leaking to the media:
A barely-noticed announcement by the Justice Department’s Office of Inspector General on Wednesday said investigators have discovered that a high-ranking FBI official has been engaging in authorized leaks to the press of sensitive information.
The official, who was not named but identified as an FBI Deputy Assistant Director, “had numerous contacts with members of the media in violation of FBI policy,â€Â according to a DoJ IG press release.
“Additionally, it was alleged that the DAD may have disclosed law enforcement or other sensitive information to the media without authorization,†the statement continued.
Clearly, there is a two-way street between the establishment media and the power-hungry elite in the deep state.
Our founders adopted the First Amendment, in part, so that American media would be free to hold the powerful in our country to account, not collude with them to overturn election results.
