If you still wonder whether there is any truth to the statement that the Democratic Muslim freshmen elected to Congress last November are truly racist, bigoted, anti-Semites, this should answer your question.
In an interview with the Yahoo News “Skullduggery” podcast over the weekend, Rep. Rashida “Impeach the M-F’er” Tlaib of Michigan actually said when she thinks about the Holocaust, in which six million-plus Jews were slaughtered by Adolph Hitler and his Nazi Party, she gets a “calming feeling.”
You read that correctly.
Worse, she then tried some major historical revision to justify what she said, putting her Palestinian heritage up for more ‘victimhood’ status.
“There’s always kind of a calming feeling I tell folks when I think of the Holocaust, and the tragedy of the Holocaust, and the fact that it was my ancestors — Palestinians — who lost their land and some lost their lives, their livelihood, their human dignity, their existence in many ways, have been wiped out, and some people’s passports,†she said.
“And just all of it was in the name of trying to create a safe haven for Jews, post-the Holocaust, post-the tragedy and the horrific persecution of Jews across the world at that time,†Tlaib added.
Continuing, the Michigan Democrat said, “And I love the fact that it was my ancestors that provided that, right, in many ways. But they did it in a way that took their human dignity away and it was forced on them.â€
Republicans (and at least one Democrat) were quick to pounce.
“There is no justification for the twisted and disgusting comments made by Rashida Tlaib just days after the annual Day of Holocaust Remembrance. More than six million Jews were murdered during the Holocaust; there is nothing ‘calming’ about that fact,” House Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R-LA) said in a statement.
“Unfortunately, this is far from the first display of heinous anti-Semitic comments coming from Democrat House members this year, and it’s clear this is now the norm for their caucus. It’s long past time for Speaker Pelosi to take swift action and make it clear that these vile comments have no place in Congress.”
House Republican Conference Chair Liz Cheney (R-WY) called on Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD) “to finally take action against Representative Tlaib and other members of the Democratic caucus who are spreading vile anti-Semitism.”
“All of us, regardless of party, must stand as Americans against the evil of anti-Semitism,” Cheney said. “If the Democratic leadership continues to stand by in silence, they are enabling the spread of evil. History teaches us that anti-Semitism begins with words and becomes something far worse. Speaker Pelosi and Leader Hoyer must act now.”
The facts, per The Washington Examiner:
So, to sum up, Tlaib’s claims that her Arab ancestors provided a “safe haven†to Jews after the Holocaust ignores the Jewish presence in the region and efforts to establish a Jewish state that predated the Holocaust, ignores that her ancestors allied with Hitler at the time of the Holocaust, and ignores decades of violence and terrorism directed at Israel both before, during, and after the Holocaust.
It should be noted that she was making this claim in the context of arguing for a one-state solution, the goal of which has always been for Arabs to overwhelm the Jewish population, and then force them as a minority to be governed by the people who are currently launching rockets at them.
This, of course, only adds to Tlaib’s growing body of bigotry and anti-Semitism.
Last month, she said she feels “more Palestinian in Congress†than American.
While speaking to the Michigan Coalition for Human Rights, she stunned many with her remarks, which have led many to conclude, rightfully, that she was insulting the United States.
“But I’m more Palestinian in the halls of Congress than I am anywhere in the country, in the world,†Tlaib said.
Before that, she argued that anyone who wants a border wall also supports white supremacy.
“The ones that stay silent and the ones that support the Muslim ban. Not only once, but twice, three times did we in this nation say to the world and to everyone in this country that Muslims don’t belong here,†Tlaib said.
“From the fact that every time we talk about a wall, it’s not about a structure, but about xenophobia, it’s about racism. It’s a symbol in so many ways of targeting brown and black people in our country. The fact that we continue to stay silent is what’s going to make us as a country less safe,†she added.
Of course, POTUS Donald Trump’s first executive orders targeting terrorist countries had nothing to do with a “Muslim ban” — as the fake news media claimed. He didn’t “ban Muslims;” he banned entry from terrorist-supporting countries that just happened to be majority Muslim.
Why isn’t Tlaib speaking out about that?
If she was a Republican saying such things the media (and the Democratic Party) would have run her out of D.C. by now (and rightfully so).
This woman is an anti-American agitator, pure and simple. It is a stain on the history of our country that she managed to get elected to Congress.
