If images of adult migrants stuffing kids underwater or dragging them through razor wire wasn’t enough to convince Democrats that there is a real humanitarian crisis along the border, then it shouldn’t surprise you they are now committed to defunding POTUS Donald Trump’s border wall initiative via the courts.
On Thursday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) announced that she and her open borders party will file a lawsuit against the Trump administration in Democrats’ next effort to stop the president from securing the border with new walls and barriers.
Using purposely inflammatory language, Pelosi accused the president of “stealing” billions of dollars from federal programs in order to divert the money to barriers along the U.S.-Mexico border, where even Obama’s Border Patrol chief Mark Morgan says is under siege from a crush of humanity.
A legal challenge by Democrats was expected by the White House after POTUS Trump declared a national emergency along the southwest border, which his within his authority as president to do. Also, Pelosi’s legal action comes after Congress failed to override the president’s veto of legislation aimed at reversing his declaration.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says Democrats will sue to prevent what they say is President Donald Trump’s “stealing†of billions of dollars from federal programs and diverting it to building barriers along the U.S.-Mexico border.
The legal challenge has been expected ever since Trump declared a border emergency so he could shift more money to constructing the wall he’s promised since his presidential campaign.
Pelosi also called the president’s emergency declaration was a “sham,” even as Border Patrol agents and Customs and Border Protection personnel surge to the border to augment existing personnel to handle more than 100,000 apprehensions last month alone.
Pelosi claims the money transfers to the wall have “undermined our democracy†and flout “the vote of the bipartisan Congress, the will of the American people and the letter of the Constitution.”
The legal action won’t succeed because open borders Democrats simply do not have the law or the Constitution on their side.
The “will of the American people” elected Donald Trump to build a “big, beautiful wall” along the U.S.-Mexico border.
The “bipartisan Congress” is one branch of government; Trump runs another branch. Together, they could solve this but the Democrats are refusing to even discuss it because they crave millions of illegal immigrants they can someday turn into voters. Oh, and they relish making this issue a problem for the president.
Pelosi all knows this, mind you, but when your objective is to create as much hate, turmoil, and division as possible within a country you swore an oath to protect and defend, you do whatever you can to keep your base of supporters perpetually angry and on a hair-trigger.
By the way, there are doubters in terms of the president’s border wall being built; it is. Here is what a section of it looks like, according to a local ABC affiliate in southern California:

These are just the kinds of barriers the Border Patrol and CBP have been begging Congress to fund.
Meanwhile, Morgan said the current situation along the U.S. border with Mexico is “at a magnitude never seen in modern times,” urging Congress to end its virtual “open border policy.”
“We’re experiencing a crisis at the southern border at a magnitude never seen in modern times, it’s unprecedented,†Morgan told the Senate Homeland Security Committee.
Morgan also provided senators with some stark figures.
“In 2016, as chief, I estimated that 15 percent of agents’ resources were being diverted from frontlines to support humanitarian activities. I saw that as a crisis and so did everyone else,†he said, Fox News reported.
“Now Border Patrol is diverting 40 percent of personnel away from frontlines to humanitarian-related functions, meanwhile cartels are exploiting the resultant resource gaps.â€
Morgan pointed out, as the president has, that the real problem is U.S. immigration law as it pertains to asylum. He said, “loopholes in our asylum laws and nonsensical judicial precedent has driven what has devolved into essentially an open border policy for a certain demographic.â€
Morgan added that families coming to the border are aware that if they step foot on U.S. soil they can say they have “credible fear” of returning home and they’ll be allowed into the U.S.
It takes a special kind of cynical hatred of your political opposition to put your own country and its people at risk every minute of every single day just to say you got to wield a little power at the moment.
But that’s today’s Democrat Party in a nutshell: Divisive, intolerant, unAmerican, uncooperative, and destructive.
