Chicago PD claim they have ‘more evidence’ that Jussie Smollett staged his hate crime

By Jon Dougherty

Much to the chagrin of the Hollywood Left and 2020 Democratic presidential contenders like Sens. Kamala Harris and Cory Booker, it’s looking more and more like “Empire” actor Jussie Smollett did indeed fake his hate crime.

Chicago PD Superintendent Eddie Johnson said Monday during an interview with host Robin Robertson of “Good Morning America” that there is a ‘slew of evidence’ Smollett staged a hate crime hoax, Fox News reported.

“Let me just put this out there first and foremost right now that he still has the presumption of innocence until he has his day in court,” Johnson said.

He repeated that Smollett, 36, described the Jan. 29 incident as a hate crime and that Chicago PD indeed treated his complaint in that manner.

The police chief also said that though Smollett said his two alleged attackers concealed their faces, the actor was nonetheless “able to say he’d seen around their eyes that at least one was white-skinned.”

“The entire time we investigated the incident he was treated like a victim,” Johnson told Robertson.

Smollett was charged Wednesday with felony disorderly conduct amid allegations of filing a false police report. He was allowed to turn himself in early Thursday.

If convicted, he is facing up to three years in prison. A judge set Smollett’s bond for $100,000 on Thursday.

The actor claimed he was beaten up in the wee hours of a frigid morning in Chicago as he ventured out around 2 a.m. for a Subway sandwich. At the time, he told police that two hooded men worked him over, at once shouting racial and homophobic slurs (Smollett is gay), pouring a liquid believed to be bleach on him, and informing him in a loud and deliberate manner that “This is MAGA country.”

But in the days that followed the alleged attack, strange things began to happen. Smollett’s claims were not bearing out. Witnesses didn’t materialize. Friends began to doubt his version of events. And police could find no real suspects and no video of the alleged whupping, though Smollett was traveling in a video-heavy part of the city.

Eventually, Chicago police brought in two Nigerian brothers Abel and Ola Osundairo for questioning in relation to the alleged attack. After that, cops pivoted their investigation away from a hate crime and to an allegedly false police report.

Johnson said police held the brothers for 48 hours but that they really only started cooperating in the 47th hour, adding that authorities had “gathered up a lot of evidence and facts before then.”

Not unexpectedly, several of Smollett’s Hollywood and Democrat allies have suggested that he is being treated unfairly by police, but Johnson addressed that.

“It’s not the Chicago police saying [the attack was staged], it’s the evidence, the facts and the witnesses that are saying it,” he said.

Chicago is a notorious republican stronghold with hordes of white Amish youth in red hats running amok and causing chaos.
All black gay friendly neighborhoods are hotbeds of this sort of activity especially when it is below zero degrees at 2 in the morning and the local Crafty Beaver has discounts on the dastardly red hats.
