Maybe this is why POTUS Donald Trump let go of his former chief of staff, John Kelly.
On Thursday the retired Marine four-star joined three other former Homeland Security secretaries in ‘urging’ the president to essentially abandon his pledge to voters for a border wall and cave to Democrats’ open borders demands, which would also cater to the cheap labor lobby in the U.S. and the Mexican smuggling cartels down south.
The letter says:
We write to you today with a simple message — fund the critical mission of DHS.
We are awed by the sacrifice that the men and women of DHS and their families make every day and their extraordinary services to our nation. We call on our elected leaders to restore the funding necessary to ensure our homeland remains safe and that the Department’s critical national security functions continue without compromise.
The other four signers include Tom Ridge, who was nominated to head the new DHS by President George W. Bush.
Notably, the letter, which was leaked to NBC, names the president and “Members of Congress†— but does not mention the two top Democrats, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California and Minority Leader Chuck Schumer of New York, who are trying to block funding for the border wall and refusing to even entertain his compromise offer of prolonging protections for DACA recipients and others.
Ridge endorsed Hillary Clinton, without question the most corrupt presidential nominee in memory, in 2016 rather than POTUS Trump.
Michael Chertoff, who ran DHS from 2005-2009, and Jeh Johnson, who ran the agency under Obama from 2013 to 2017.
All of these men are backers of amnesty. Most of them promoted policies that favored immigrants over Americans, especially when it came to employment inside the country. They also supported visa programs that would allow foreign workers and recent graduates to take jobs inside while literally pushing Americans out of their positions (because they worked cheaper).
“The cheap labor policy widens wealth gaps, reduces high tech investment, increases state and local tax burdens, hurts kids’ schools and college education, pushes Americans away from high tech careers, and sidelines at least five million marginalized Americans and their families, including many who are now struggling with fentanyl addictions,” Breitbart News’ Neil Munro wrote Thursday.
It should be noted again that a majority of Americans want better security and are with the president in terms of securing the border against illegal immigration, drug smuggling, and potential terrorist infiltration.
