(National Sentinel) Strategy: On Friday, The Daily Beast ran a story claiming that POTUS Donald Trump’s legal team is preparing a “counter-report” to one expected from special counsel Robert Mueller that is reportedly aimed at discrediting him in various ways.
The site noted that POTUS is “happy” about this strategy and has given his full blessing to it. According to Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani, the counter-report will question whether the “initiation of the investigation” by Mueller the “was… legitimate or not.â€
The news site noted further:
According to Giuliani, the bulk of the report will be divided into two sections. One section will seek to question the legitimacy of the Mueller probe generally by alleging “possible conflicts†of interest by federal law enforcement authorities. The other section will respond to more substantive allegations of Trump campaign collusion with Russian government agents to sway the 2016 election, and obstruction of justice allegations stemming from, among other things, the president’s firing of former FBI director James Comey.
The former mayor of New York City said he has no idea what is actually in Mueller’s report — which, according to Chuck Todd at NBC, may come this weekend because anything Mueller does after Labor Day could be construed as interfering in the midterm elections.
“Since we have to guess what it is, [our report so far] is quite voluminous,†Giuliani said, claiming that he would spend much of this weekend “paring it down†and that he was editing the document created by the “whole team.â€
All along there have been legal analysts claiming that Mueller’s investigation is improper for a number of reasons, including his close relationship to James Comey, the fact that Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein appointed him without any evidence of a crime or intelligence suggesting nefarious behavior — as is required by the special counsel statute — among other things.
So what’s different this time?
POTUS Trump may have given us a massive clue:Â Hillary Clinton.
During a campaign rally in Indiana Thursday night, the president dropped this tantalizing bombshell: After hitting AG Jeff Sessions and FBI Director Chris Wray over their failure to intervene in an “illegal” probe, he said about Hillary: “Look at what she is getting away with, but let’s see if she gets away with it.â€

Granted, the president is prone to hyperbole, especially when he’s working a crowd at a campaign event.
But that’s a mighty big statement from the most powerful man on the planet, who has access to all kinds of intelligence and information few others have.
Given that a counter-report is being prepared, what would an indictment of Hillary Clinton do to blunt the effect of anything Bob Mueller would assert in his report?
And wouldn’t an indictment really fire up the president’s base ahead of the midterms?
If we’ve learned anything about our president, it’s that he’s a counter-puncher. And he learns on his feet. He’s been in Washington long enough now to know how things work (and who works for him and against him).
And here’s another curveball: What if Sessions and Wray were in on this from the beginning, and all this back-and-forth in public between the president and his Justice Department has been for show?
The thing is this: POTUS Trump knows the Swamp is coming after him. It only makes sense that he would marshal his considerable forces and resources to hit the Deep State where it hurts most — and at a point that gives him the political and strategic advantage.
Hillary has ‘gotten away with it’ for far too long. The report this week that her server was hacked by China may have been leaked as a way of sending her another signal.
What’s more, wouldn’t POTUS, Sessions, and Wray all know that the statute of limitations for her [alleged] national security crimes is running out?
