(National Sentinel)Â Truth Bomb:Â Ever since the federal government and Cody Wilson, publisher of blueprints that show you how to make a 3D printed firearm, came to an agreement regarding a years-long free speech lawsuit last month that permitted him to post such plans online, enraged Leftists and Democrats have scrambled to intervene.
And this week they got their wish in the usual manner: Judge-shopping.
Several state attorneys general filed lawsuits in cherry-picked federal courts with judges known to be sympathetic to opponents of the Second Amendment, and at least three courts have issued a stay, once again blocking Wilson from being able to publish his blueprints.
Democrats are claiming the plans will be used by criminals to print untraceable, undetectable firearms.
But once again, the National Rifle Association is schooling unhinged Leftists who have an aversion to the truth and to facts when it comes to anything having to do with a firearm.
The Free Beacon reported:
The National Rifle Association said on Tuesday that certain politicians and members of the media were misrepresenting the law surrounding 3D printed firearms.
Chris Cox, executive director of the group’s Institute for Legislative Action, said many elected officials and media figures had made incorrect claims about the legality of producing firearms made completely out of plastic.
“Many anti-gun politicians and members of the media have wrongly claimed that 3-D printing technology will allow for the production and widespread proliferation of undetectable plastic firearms,” Cox said in a statement to the Washington Free Beacon.
“Regardless of what a person may be able to publish on the internet, undetectable plastic guns have been illegal for 30 years. Federal law passed in 1988, crafted with the NRA’s support, makes it unlawful to manufacture, import, sell, ship, deliver, possess, transfer, or receive an undetectable firearm.”
So it’s already against the law to make guns that aren’t registered and cannot be traced.
Just like it’s already against the law for certain people with criminal records to possess guns — and yet many do because to criminals laws restricting their access to guns don’t matter.
For his part, POTUS Donald Trump weighed into the debate on Tuesday. “I am looking into 3-D Plastic Guns being sold to the public,” he tweeted. “Already spoke to NRA, doesn’t seem to make much sense!”
When the facts are learned, the president will make the right decision. In the meantime, Democrats cannot be trusted to provide accurate information on this or any other gun-related issue.
