(National Sentinel) Aiding and Abetting: Democrats got all fired up on the House floor earlier today as Minority Whip Steny Hoyer of Maryland whipped his party members into a frenzy over POTUS Donald Trump and ‘Russia.’
As reported by the Washington Examiner, the display came as the chamber prepared to consider additional funding for election infrastructure security:
House Democrats erupted into chants of “USA†for about 30 seconds Thursday on the House floor after a top Democrat gave a spirited speech condemning Russian President Vladimir Putin for his country’s interference in the last U.S. election.
House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer, D-Md., called on lawmakers to stop giving into Putin by committing more funding to election security.
“This amendment responds by providing for us to partner with our states to slam the door in the face of the Russian bear or any other adversary who seeks to steal the integrity of our elections,†Hoyer said.
The Republican majority rejected the measure and Democrats likely knew they would. The floor chanting and the amendment itself was nothing but political theater.Â
How do we know?
Because there’s one big, fat problem with the amendment and the notion that Americans and Congress ought to be concerned about “Russian election interference.”
There wasn’t any. There never has been.Â
Who says so? No less than FBI Director Christopher Wray.
During a Q & A led by NBC News‘ Lester Holt at a security summit in Aspen Wednesday, the discussion naturally turned to Russia — Trump’s meeting with Putin along with Moscow’s 2016 “election interference.”
Wray made it clear that yeah, Moscow is guilty in that the Russian government attempted — and did — interfere in the last presidential election.
He’s certain that Russia will do so again in 2018 and beyond.
But the “interference” hasn’t been directed at election infrastructure — that is, electronic balloting machines and the election-management systems that tally votes on Election Day.
And that’s the lie Democrats have been pushing since Hillary Clinton failed to drag herself into the White House: Putin and Trump worked together to steal the election by changing votes and altering. the outcome.
But Russia doesn’t do that. Never has. Rather, Russia focuses on sowing discontent among the American electorate, and in that respect, the Kremlin has been wildly successful.
As reported by The Tribune-Democrat:
[Wray] said that while U.S. officials have not yet seen an effort by Russia to target specific election systems, it is aggressively engaged in influence operations to sow discord and divisiveness in America. “To me, it’s a threat that we need to take very serious and respond to with fierce determination,” Wray said.
He said the Russians identify divisive issues, and through covert and overt operations, fake news and propaganda, they “spin people up on both sides of an issue and then kind of watch us go after each other.“
Who can doubt that’s exactly what has happened? It’s called information warfare and the Russians are good at it. Even The New York Times reported on it.
Do you know why they’ve been so successful though?
We can thank Democrats and their propaganda machine, the “mainstream media.” They’ve been pushing the big, fat lie that Russia “hacked” the election and helped Trump “steal it.”
They’ve been doing Russia’s bidding, in other words.
And they have the temerity to stand on the floor of the U.S. House and chant “USA”? What sick joke.
What a crock.
The ought to be chanting, “USSR!”
The next time you hear someone on the Left make the silly claim that Russia “hacked” our election, you can tell them FBI Director Christopher Wray disagrees with them.
So does President Obama’s former cybersecurity adviser.
Oh, and so does Barack Obama.
