(National Sentinel) Outrage: Those on the Left have never been known for their tolerance of opposing viewpoints, but in the age of Trump they have become completely unhinged.
The latest outrage on the Left pertains to the Trump administration’s continuation of an Obama-era policy that separates children from criminal adults who attempt to sneak into the U.S. illegally.
Last week an unruly CNN reporter, Brian Karem, screamed at White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders over the policy in a disgusting display of partisanship that, frankly, should have resulted in the Secret Service perp-walking him out of the White House and revoking his press pass.
Then, on his little-watch MSNBC program, former “Republican” congressman Joe Scarborough compared U.S. border enforcement personnel to the Nazis.
Now, former CIA Director Michael Hayden – who ought to know a nation without border security really isn’t a nation — has made the same Nazi comparison, tweeting out a picture of a concentration camp at Birkenau which was then a part of Nazi Germany, but is now Poland.

Just disgraceful. This man used to run the CIAÂ and the NSA. Suddenly, border security doesn’t matter to him, and our border enforcement personnel are nothing but ‘jack-booted thugs,’ apparently.
Let the record show that @GenMhayden considers the hard working men and women of DHS, ICE, and CBP, who put their lives on the line day in and day out, equivalent to the Nazi SS.

Obviously the deranged Left — always looking for an issue that divides Americans rather than unites them — has seized upon this ‘child separation’ policy as its latest anti-Trump wedge issue. That’s surprisingly tone-deaf, given that much of Trump’s victory hinged on his pledge to improve border security and build a wall.
That said, Trump has not issued some new directive. This is merely a continuation of border policy from the previous president. He could change it with an executive order, true, but they he loses the only leverage he has in his ongoing effort to curb serial abuses of our immigration laws — which are not adequate and which the current Republican leadership in Congress refuses to address.
But there’s another aspect of this that isn’t being reported – the perception of ‘kids in cages’ being perpetrated by the Left is a gross misrepresentation, and of course, that’s purposeful.
Interestingly, Left-leaning NPR sent a reporter to a Texas facility in an effort to get details on conditions where children separated from criminal border crossers are being ‘caged.’
Turns out they aren’t in cages at all, but well-maintained facilities where they are very well cared for:
This is the largest government-contracted migrant youth shelter in the country: Casa Padre, a former Walmart supercenter converted into living, recreational and dining quarters for nearly 1,500 immigrant boys.
Shelter managers took reporters on a tour of the facility in Brownsville, Texas, on Wednesday, amid criticism over the Trump administration’s “zero tolerance” policy that has led to separating migrant families who crossed the border illegally.
“We want to show you that these are not kids kept in cages,” said Alexia Rodriguez, a spokeswoman for the Texas nonprofit Southwest Key that operates the shelter. “We provide them excellent care.”
On Wednesday, reporters were allowed a rare glimpse inside Casa Padre, a 250,000-square-foot facility located on the outskirts of Brownsville across from a pizza joint and a McDonald’s. The boys confined there waved, smiled and said “hola” to the group of visiting journalists…
Kids were seen shooting baskets, kicking soccer balls, “playing video games, watching a movie, sitting in classrooms where they were taught about the U.S. government, learning tai chi and chowing down on a meal of chicken and mixed vegetables.” The report noted that the kids were kept inside most of the day, but it’s Texas. It’s hot this time of year.
NPR called it a “carefully-scripted visit,” a journalistic twist-of-phrase meant to give the reader the impression that what the reporter saw was out of the ordinary. That’s absurd; there is no evidence presented to indicate that.
NPR is liberal so we get it. The larger point is this:Â These kids are not being corralled into cages 23 out of 24 hours a day. They are being cared for. Fed. Housed. Educated.
To portray the situation as anything other than that is dishonest and disgusting.
